And as they continued to share their stories on Teen Mom, fans have seen them build a life and a family for themselves, even amid a contentious relationship with Carly's adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis. It all started with a post from the official 'Teen Mom' Instagram account.

The account shared a video of Tyler and Catelynn becoming emotional after saying goodbye to Carly at the end of one of their visits with her. Now, Carly is 15 years old, and this has prompted a lot of fans to take to the comments of the post to speculate about the future.

One person wrote, "She’s going to be 18 soon Ty! And she’s coming back to you."

Tyler decided to directly address comments that Carly would be 'coming back.'

After seeing multiple comments on the post from well-meaning fans reassuring Tyler that he and Catelynn would see more of Carly after she's a legal adult, he wanted to set the record straight.

Replying to one fan, he began, "Of course I’d LOVE for her to be in our lives more & her sisters lives. But the truth is, she might turn 18 & want nothing to do with us."

He is prepared for the possibility that a relationship with her biological parents might be 'too much' for Carly.

He went on to say that it is "her right" to decide if she never wants to speak to him and Catelynn again.

"She might want to just talk us one final time & tell us how much our decision to place her has negatively affected her or traumatized her life…& that’s OKAY! I would humbly fold my hands behind my back, lower my head & allow her to yell, cry, or scream at me if that’s what she needs. All I would say is 'I’m sorry. You’re right. I love you,'" he wrote.

He wrote that his love for Carly 'has no conditions.'

"All I hope & wish for her is to ALWAYS REMAIN TRUE to her intuition. To live EVERY MOMENT with unapologetic authenticity," he wrote in the post. "To ALLOW enough GRACE upon herself to heal whenever it’s needed. To NEVER self betray for the sake of others comfort & to use FEAR as an OPPORTUNITY to PROVE to herself exactly what she is CAPABLE of every time it arises!

"So I’m okay with whatever decision she makes, because I’m not a requirement for any of those wishes to come true for her. I just want her to know how much she is loved!" Tyler added.

Carly turned 15 on May 18.

Along with a black and white photo of Tyler and herself walking at a park with Carly and their three daughters, Novalee, Vaeda, and Rya, Catelynn wrote a tribute to her firstborn.

"Today is Carly's 15th birthday! I wonder what kind of day she'll have and what she'll do," she wrote. "I wish things were different so we could celebrate with her. I hope she feels our love and has a great day! I look forward to knowing that one day we will be lucky enough to celebrate with her and B&T I can’t wait for that day!"
