Every year I think I'm going to dress up to go trick-or-treating with my daughter, and every year I end up having nothing thrown together. It's probably fair to assume most moms can relate. Even if a last-minute Halloween costume for a fabulous party is needed, good news: I've rounded up some truly unique and gorgeous Halloween makeup looks that any mom of any skill level can totally do herself.
The best news? They require very little actual costume. Makeup looks can totally transform a face on an average day — now just imagine how impressive it can be for Halloween.

1. First start off by washing and moisturizing the skin, then apply a face primer to prep skin for application.
2. Begin by applying foundation and concealer (if needed) to the skin for a natural base.
3. Using a pink shadow with a small makeup brush on the inner corner of the eye to outline a "half heart shape" by following the natural bone structure of the eye and cheek. Garfinkel used Sugarpill Cosmetics Pressed Eye Shadow in DOLLIPOP ($12, rickysnyc.com) and the Morphe Brushes Detail Liner Brush ($2.99, rickysnyc.com).
4. Repeat on both eyes.
5. Fill in both heart shape with the shadow.
6. Use concealer to trace any edges that need fixing.
7. Apply mascara or lashes and a thin eyeliner on top lid and thicker on the bottom. Garfinkel used Doll Eye Long Lash Black Mascara ($9.99, ulta.com).
8. Fill in brows accordingly.
9. Add highlight to high points of cheek, forehead, bridge of nose, cupids bow and chin.
10. Finish with a bright pink lipstick and gloss.
