Ashley Graham Puts Her Mom in a String Bikini to Prove Women Can Be Sexy at Any Age

For some reason, society has put a lot of restrictions on who can and can't wear bikinis. We've been told that people of certain shapes and sizes can't wear them, as well as those of certain ages. Plus-size model Ashley Graham's new swimsuit campaign just shatters all of those preconceived notions, thanks to the inclusion of her stunning mama.

For her fifth collaboration with Swimsuits For All, Ashley invited her mama, Linda Graham, to pose with her for the campaign, called "Power of the Journey."

The ladies posed against a desert background in Agadir, Morocco, in a variety of the swimsuits, which are now available on the Swimsuits For All website.

As the name implies, the campaign aims to celebrate "the path the mother-daughter duo has taken to achieve their true happiness, finding confidence in their own skin," according to a press release.

As soon as Ashley heard about the concept, she knew she had to have her mom alongside her, since her mom has been her role model in her own journey to body positivity. "She promoted body positivity in our household before it was a movement," Ashley said in the press release. "Her feel-good attitude toward her own body has shaped my ability to remain positive and self-assured."

Linda reciprocated the thought. She called Ashley her "rock" in inspiring her to be proud of her body at age 53.

The shoot was also the first time Linda ever put on a string bikini, she told Vogue. "Here I am at 53 years old and in a hot pink string bikini [on set], but I was kind of in love with that swimsuit!"

This is exactly what Ashley hoped would happen with her new campaign.

"What I want is for women my mother's age to feel empowered and to know that they too can look just as hot in a one-piece, a two-piece, or string bikini," she told Vogue. "I believe that beauty is beyond age, race, or size, and it's not a trend — at every stage in your life you can feel beautiful."
