Mom Doesn’t Like Her ‘Cheap’ Secret Santa Gift & Her Reaction Is the Definition of Ballsy

Before you roll your eyes at the thought of your company's Secret Santa exchange, you might want to read one man's truly incredulous experience after his coworker googled how much he spent on her gift. According to the anonymous poster on Reddit, not only did his coworker message him that she knew he spent less than their company's agreed upon minimum, she decided to try her luck and ask for a serious upgrade — because of her kids.

The mind-blowing exchange started innocently, with his coworker sending him a text thanking him for his gifts.

In a post on the ChoosingBeggers subreddit, the poster explained that even though his office gift exchange was Secret Santa style (so nobody knows who the gifts are from), the woman who he had figured it out and texted him. She started the message by thanking him for the blanket and box of chocolates he bought for her.

But apparently figuring out her Secret Santa's identity, presumably to thank him or her, wasn't the only sleuthing this coworker had done. Her tone quickly turned disgruntled when she explained that she happened to google the cost of her presents and although she likes them, she was displeased that they came to a total of $30 instead of the company's agreed upon $50 budget.

Since he was apparently $20 short, she saw no shame in asking for an additional gift -- but that wasn't her only ballsy request.

That's right. After not once but twice pulling the mom card and dropping that her kids have been "spending her up the wazoo," she asked for a serious upgrade.

To make up for the fact that his gift was $20 less than the suggested amount, this woman asked for a $120 tablet and tried to play it off like it was a gift for her kids.

Rightfully so, the man did not think it was appropriate for his coworker to demand a pricey gift from him. Little did he know that when he gently put his foot down it would only get worse.

The woman then charged that her coworker owed her the pricey present because he had a well-paying job and didn't have kids.

That's … not how that works. No one owes you their income because they don't have children.

Seeing that she wasn't going to get a tablet out of the deal, the woman then decided to settle for the $20.

But our guy was having none of it. He told her to "forget it" and took to the Internet to let his coworker's greedy words speak for themselves.

"Honestly didn't believe people like this actually existed," he wrote in his caption.

Online people were straight up SHOOK by this woman's audacity.

Most people agreed that even googling how much the present was was wayyy too much.

Someone else joked that the most offensive part of this conversation was his coworker's dependency on the phrase "up the wazoo."

And someone else pointed out how entitled this woman seemed to be over his paycheck.

Although we're sure that this exchange made for some pretty awkward conversations between the two at work, it's the more than 48k people who upvoted the post and almost 3k people who commented on it that will hopefully get back to the coworker and teach her a lesson.

Or at the very least, it will teach this woman's other coworkers who they don't want to get for Secret Santa next year.
