My girls have tried a few different hair tinsel kits, and there are many styles you can buy, but we’ve found this set to be the most long-lasting. The key is that this set clamps flat vs. some of the bead or knotted kinds that just slide right out.
My 5-year-old had hers put in on March 7, and they lasted nearly two months before coming out. I was deeply impressed by how well they stood up to her activities. She is a very active kid, and the hair tinsel stayed completely put through swimming, soccer, gymnastics, literally rolling in the dirt, and sprinting outside.
The tinsel also withstood daily showering and hair styling. I tried to avoid heat styling the areas where the tinsel was, but I won’t lie – I gave up a few times and definitely curled right over them, and they did not melt or get damaged, so that was another very impressive feature.
