Hilarious Mother-Daughter Duo Falls Into Fits of Laughter Over Holiday Decor Discovery

You know how there was that one friend's house that you wanted to go to when you were a kid because there was always something going on? I totally remember that house. There were dozens of kids in and out of the doors every day, and anyone could come over whenever they wanted. It was the kind of house where the mom might be wearing an outfit she puff-painted the night before with her kid's faces on it, or she could have on her gym shorts inside out and backward for 12 hours because no one said anything. She was the mom everyone wanted to have, and I always felt like the luckiest kid on the block because she was mine.

Make no mistake, we were not the Cleavers. As a matter of fact, we were more of a cross between the Bundys and the Brady Bunch. You never knew what you would get at our house, but it was sure to be an adventure. My parents' four children are grown up now, and my mother is Maurmi to 10 grandkids and likes to keep things just as exciting as they were way back when. Earlier this week, I visited her house and found Christmas decorations still hanging up in April. I knew it had the makings of a delightful moment when she realized Santa was still up, so I filmed her reaction. Maurmi is now a viral sensation for being the mom we all identify with.

I am at her house every single day.

@colleenandmaurmi Yes, she’s celebrating Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, and Easter with a random vacuum cleaner and some toothbrushes….That’s how we like it #maurmi #stl #colleenandmaurmi #wetmypants #tinkle #funnygranny #momlife #whateverworks #bestgrandma @maurmi10 ♬ original sound - Colleen and Maurmi

This wasn't a random visit; we only live a mile away from each other and see each other on the daily. But I was ready to go home that afternoon and realized she had gone upstairs to talk to my father. I went to tell them I was leaving when I spotted the Santa Claus on one of the bedroom doors. Knowing full well she had no idea it was there, I caught her completely off-guard and asked her what the date was. With the confidence of a scholar, she said, "April 21." I panned the camera to the Santa a few inches from her face, and we both lost it.

I swear to you, I couldn't breathe.

I was laughing so hard as she began to waddle cross-legged down the hall, ready to wet her pants, I was clenching my thighs as tightly as she was. We were doubled over laughing at the Christmas decorations before we realized what else was happening right next to us.

It is an incredibly familiar stance, and I have an entire TikTok playlist, @colleenandmaurmi, devoted to making her laugh so hard she has an accident.

And please, before you get your panties in a bunch — I have wet mine plenty of times, too — she's just not as fast with the camera, and I have never posted anything without her permission.

She was celebrating three holidays at once.

Santa was on the door; a St. Patrick's Day welcome sign, complete with a bag of toothbrushes from the dentist, was chilling in the hallway; and right below us in the entryway was a floppy Easter Bunny who looked like he'd been run over by a car. At this point, we lost control of the tears in our eyes and our bladders. I knew instantly there was no way I was keeping this one to myself. I posted it to TikTok, and the laughter kept going.

People love my mother.

That's not a surprise — people have always loved her. But this video made people laugh harder than they had in a long time. The video has been viewed 159,000 times, and not a single person in the comments section had anything nasty to say. If you've spent even five minutes on TikTok, you know that's a miracle. People cannot get enough of her.

One of Maurmi's fans commented: "Could watch this ALL DAY. I love her."

"You two are the best!!" another person wrote. "I saved this under Cup Filler! ❣️ ."

People were laughing just as hard as us.

One person wrote: "Thank you. I'm fighting to breathe right now. Just what I needed today!"

"I can't get enough of this one lol the hissing laugh is the best lol ," was another comment.

If you are a laugh-induced tinkler, you know precisely what was happening.

Like this person: "The 'crossing the legs' while you laugh! I thought I was alone in this tinkle battle. ."

And this one: "It's the crossing of the legs for me!!!! The level of laughing has all us moms dying . IYKYK."

Our followers knew the drill. "She's always immediately fighting for her life with you ," one person commented.

And there are other people out there just like her.

Someone commented: "I feel her. I still have mine on my front door ."

And this person who wrote, "Just took down my indoor Christmas lights this weekend. ❤️❤️."

Four days later, the decorations are still up.

I went over this morning to check, and nothing had changed at Maurmi's house. She's still celebrating several holidays and making people laugh until they cry. Friends, she is the best around, and I am so thankful for social media that I can share her with all of you. Yes, it is always like this. And no, I don't ever want her to change.

Feel free to drop by anytime, but be prepared for anything. And, please pack a change of underwear, or two, just in case … trust me …
