Directors are obsessed with making choreographed sex look "real," so it's kind of incredible how they've ignored the one obvious way to make the fake stuff look legit.

But doing that would mean they'd have to cast actors and actresses with fat and average size bodies to play romantic roles. And they really don't seem to want to do that.
It's a shame, too, because some (but definitely not all) of the hangups people have about their bodies are tied to how the opposite sex perceives them — aka whether they think they're sexy, aka whether they want to have sex with them.
So we decided to give snaps to some of the shows that have shown bodies that look like yours and mine gettin' busy.

People had very strong feelings about this very brief sex scene (we're talking five seconds) in which Emily Walker rides Rupert Friend in a not-totally-dark room. Walker told the Chicago Tribune that her nudity clause was very specific. On the fat-shaming she experienced after the show aired, Walker says it was difficult, but that it helped her develop a thicker skin.

OITNB has never shied from showing bigger bodies in the buff, and I wish other shows would follow their lead. Actress Lea DeLaria, who plays Big Boo, gave props to the show for its depiction of lesbian sex in this episode.
"The fact that I am literally having sex with a dildo, in the proper way, actually strapped on, the way butches do it, is amazing,'" she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

Lena Dunham does a lot of sex scenes on "Girls," but there's something about this one that's particularly significant: Patrick Wilson is a bona fide hunk. He's not awkwardly adorable Adam Driver — he's the prom king you always wanted to sleep with but never did. The episode's title, "One Man's Trash," casts a slightly pathetic shadow on Hannah and Dr. Josh's coupling, but different as the two characters are, their sexual chemistry is fire.

The show revolves around Rae's physical insecurities. In this scene, her body image hangups are set aside and she just gets lost in the experience.
