If you’re looking for a simple, sure-to-impress teacher gift, influencer Vanessa (@vanessa.kk6) has a great idea to share: gift card key chains.
I admit that the end of the school year tends to sneak up on me every single year and I usually default to gift cards, which I think is fine, but I do also love the idea of elevating the simple gift card a bit more.
And that’s exactly what this teacher gift does. By choosing a key chain featuring their initial – which already shows some personalization – and adding small gifts or gift cards, you give a gift that’s meaningful, adorable, and practical.
You could consider doing a more luxurious teacher’s gift by filling up a Stanley tumbler with candy, gift cards, or small items, but personally, I’m a big fan of this key chain idea because it’s a lot more budget-friendly.
Vanessa demonstrated how she makes the key chains in her video. By using a hole puncher, she puts a hole in small gifts and affixes them to the key chain with a pretty ribbon.
Some ideas for the little gifts include:
- Gift cards
- Lip gloss
- Hand sanitizer
- Gum or mints
I did some searching and found everything you need to recreate this teacher gift easily for the end of the year or just as a general thank you.
Suweibuke Beige Key Chain

Amazon has a lot of really cute initial key chains, but this glitter-dipped option was one of the most affordable ones I found, and I loved the simple clear-and-gold design. Plus, it has glitter.
e.l.f. Squeeze Lip Balm

I am obsessed with this e.l.l lip balm because it’s only $4 and has the most fun summery colors. It’s ideal for this teacher gift because it comes in a box, so you can hole punch straight through the box and add it to the keychain as part of the present.
Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Spray,Juicy Trio Set

I stock Touchland hand sanitizers in every bag, backpack, purse, and nook and cranny of my car because I love it so much. It smells wonderfully, works effectively, and doesn’t dry out my hands as severely as some other sanitizers.
I buy the sanitizers in bulk to save money and use them with all my teens as well. The bulk pack will deliver the sanitizers in a small plastic pouch, so you can hole punch it and add it to your teacher’s gift key chain.
Juicy Fruit Gum

Add this Juicy Fruit gum, conveniently with a hole built in, or separate the bulk pack and add each individual pack of gum to a key chain for maximum gift purchasing power.
Starbucks Gift Cards, 4-Pack

Keeping Starbucks gift cards on hand is one of my favorite hacks for thank-you gifts, teacher gifts, and generic birthday gifts to use when I’ve completely forgotten until the last minute. If you have a Starbucks account, it can be nice to pick up gift cards from the physical Starbucks store to rack up those points, but in a pinch, it’s nice to order a bulk pack from Amazon so you’ve got plenty at home.
This pack has four $10 Starbucks cards, so it’s ideal for smaller gifts.
Amazon Gift Cards

Of course, Amazon gift cards are also an easy gift option to pick up. You can order these physical Amazon gift cards starting with a minimum of $10, and they even come with their own mini envelopes so you can string them onto a key chain. Done and done!
Single Hole Punch Metal Pink, 1/4” Hole Puncher with Soft Grip Handles

Last but not least, if you want to use a hole punch to add the small gifts to the keychain with ribbon, don’t forget to buy one of them. I like this option because it has soft-grip handles for comfort.
You can also add a pretty teacher or thank-you themed ribbon to the key chain to tie it all together at the end (ha, no pun intended), but the gift is pretty enough without it too!
