Jeffree Star’s Lost Morphe Collaboration Is Finally Happening After 3 Years

Just an FYI to anyone who missed it, Jeffree Star is due to reveal his just-announced Morphe collaboration today. No word on what exactly the release will be, but many are speculating that it's those pink chrome brushes from 2016 that just never showed up.

However, after several consecutive beauty YouTuber collabs, some are wondering if this is yet another false alarm. We'll know in a few hours if this is the real deal, and possibly, if this is the day those brushes get to be let out of captivity.

So Star fans, be on the lookout. Maybe, just maybe, today will be your lucky day.

Jeffree Star has long been an avid supporter of Morphe Cosmetics.

In almost all his videos, you can count on a Morphe appearance. Whether it be brushes, foundations, or palettes, Star is undoubtedly one of the brand's biggest partners.

So it came as no surprise when he revealed yesterday that a collaboration with the brand would soon be released.

"@MORPHEBRUSHES x JEFFREE STAR ????All will be revealed tomorrow on my channel… #MorphexJeffreeStar," Star said on his Instagram.

But people have trust issues after the last time Star announced a collaboration with the brand.

This isn't the first time Star has said that a Morphe collaboration was on the horizon. However, his first collaboration never came, leaving us wondering what to expect this time around.

Star intially announced a collab with Morphe way back in 2016.

He said that he would be creating a line of baby-pink, chrome makeup brushes and even used them on his face during the video.

But almost three years later, that alleged launch is still nowhere in sight.

The long-lost collaboration was announced by Star and then never mentioned ever again. Most fans just gave up hope, while those who never wanted it in the first place were just fine without it.

In 2017, there were a number of people who flooded Star's Instagram comments with questions.

"You've severed me chrome realness all summer but no brushes," said one commenter.

"…it's the end of summer 2017 lmfaoooo," said another.

So with all the back and forth, people are rightfully hesitant about Star's newly announced deal.

Twitter wouldn't let us forget that we've been here before. So maybe this collaboration will be the brushes that many were looking out for? "Summer 2016?"

If you recall, Jaclyn Hill's namesake brush collection came out a while back.

Some believe that Morphe didn't release the Star collab so it wouldn't compete with Hill's brush collection.

And the following James Charles palette was wildly successful, too.

With so many other beauty YouTube collections coming out after 2016, and Star's relationship with the brand seemingly still intact, there was really no real explanation as to why his collaboration was mysteriously dropped without a word.

After Twitter reacted with mixed emotions, some struck the comparison between the outrage over Star's collection versus the reaction to Charles'.

"Y’all outraged about jeffree star collabing with morphe but have that james charles palette… make it make sense," someone wrote.

And who could forget Laura Lee and her entwinement with Morphe?

Morphe quickly denounced the behavior of Lee, but has never done the same for Star, who has a similar (and worse) past with racism.

Though many are excited about the new Jeffree Star drop, a little diversity among Morphe's collaborators would be nice.

Here's a Friday dare for you: Can you name a time that Morphe has made a collaboration with a beauty influencer of color? We'll wait… Please, take your time.

Nonetheless, Star is understandably excited.

"The secret is finally out.. What do you think @MorpheBrushes and I are launching together??? REVEAL TOMORROW ON MY CHANNEL.  10AM PST / 1PM EST."

The official reveal will take place in just a few hours.

Any guesses on what it may be? Those long-awaited pink chrome brushes? An eye shadow palette? A setting powder, perhaps? We'll keep you up to date on all the newness.
