Here’s The Jeffree Star Documentary That No One Wanted

When you woke up this morning, did you think to yourself, "Gosh, is my life a meaningless pit of despair without a Jeffree Star documentary?" I didn't think so. Like it or not, The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star is coming to a YouTube near you, and it was produced by fellow YT celeb Shane Dawson. Aren't you so excited?

In the trailer, Dawson and Star are seen on a private jet and working on makeup ideas while Dawson asks Star questions about his company. The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star does promise to show us the person behind the colorful makeup. Star is an interesting person. The famous YouTuber's fans and critics could all use insight into his life.

And, because it wouldn't be a Jeffree Star documentary without drama, there's even an appearance by James Charles and Tati Westbrook. At the very least, it will be fascinating to see Star respond to that controversy in real time.

The trailer isn't as glam as you'd expect.

Anything having to do with Star is often colorful and glam, but Dawson's documentary looks like it will take a quieter approach.

For starters, the trailer doesn't include dialogue — it just has scenes from the video over "Prom Queen" by Catie Turner, an American Idol alum. There are scenes of Star looking normal and businesslike, punctuated by shots of him posing on the steps of a private jet and waving to fans. One gets the sense that Dawson is trying to humanize Star, who has a habit of making himself into a larger-than-life character.

This isn't the first time Dawson has turned his lens on Star.

Last year, Dawson produced a five-part documentary series called The Secret World of Jeffree Star. In the series, Dawson focuses on Star's glam persona. It's as extra as you'd expect.

Star announced the documentary on Twitter.

Crazy year is an understatement for Star, but it should be interesting so see how he copes with drama.

Dawson seemed delighted to share the news.

Dawson's tweet is full of so much emotion, no?

Star would like you to know that the documentary premieres on October 1.

The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star drops on October 1. It is unknown if the documentary will be released as a feature-length video or if it will be divided into episodes as Dawson has done before.
