The saying "Everything old is new again," has never been more true than it has been this past year. Everywhere we turn there are #TBT makeup collections popping up, trends reminiscent of past decades being revitalized, or reboots of our favorite TV shows getting greenlit. And while some are pretty expected, or all-around redundant, there are a few that literally make us jump for joy. Miley Cyrus' latest hair change is just that.
And before you ask why bangs are so important, hear us out. Over the past few months rumors have been swirling that a childhood favorite for '00s kids might be making its way back to television, and this Hannah Montana-esque hair may have been all the confirmation we needed.
Over the past year or so, Miley Cyrus has been getting back to the basics.
She's let go of the wild girl persona (you know, that period of time when she was appropriating black culture for monetary gain) and settled for a more subdued and natural look. She's begun embracing her natural hair color and is now often spotted out with simple, tousled waves.
But we didn't expect her to take it all the way back like this.
"Banged," her hairstylist Justin Anderson wrote in an Instagram post. The new 'do bares an uncanny resemblance to Hannah Montana's. Thanks to the added waves, all we can think about are the days many of us spent sitting at the television singing along to "Best of Both Worlds."
Cyrus was visibly feeling the look.
The cut clearly gave Cyrus a brand new attitude, seeing as she flicked and posed it up for the cameras. And who can blame her? Some of the fondest memories of our childhood were the many seasons of Hannah Montana, and it's more than likely that her fondest memories are of the show, too.
So what does this all mean?
Rumors have been swirling that a Hannah Montana reboot may be on the horizon. With the sudden hair change, people are buzzing even more. Could there possibly be a Hannah-goes-to-college situation? Could get married? The opportunities are endless. Maybe even to give it an adult flair, the show can make its way to Bravo or ABC. A girl can dream.
And this look can't just be for shock factor because she hit the town wearing the bangs fresh out of the salon.
She spent the evening pounding the Hollywood pavement at A-list events, even posing for a photo with husband Liam Hemsworth.
So is all that "RIP Hannah Montana" talk over?
It killed our souls when Cyrus was spotted out awhile ago wearing a shirt that declared Hannah Montana dead. It felt like a personal attack. Like, even if it was, how dare she parade such news in front of our faces? Looks like she might have had a recent change of heart.
She even sang, guys!
At this point, we have the right to allow our imaginations to soar. Like come on, Hannah Montana reboot rumors, hair switch-ups, and singing? We don't care what anyone says, something big is coming.
Twitter, of course, lost it.
"MY WHOLE F****** CHILDHOOD IS BACK WHAT THE F*** HANNAH MONTANA KDSKKDKSSK," one user wrote.
Well okay sis, be excited.
Brace yourself, everyone; our childhood is coming back in the best way possible.
"Hannah Montana is back tonight for take back her throne," another person shared.
Yep, she absolutely is.

A new Hannah Montana Instagram page has seemed to pop up out of nowhere. And Miley Cyrus is actually following it.
