It’s never easy to put yourself out there when online dating, but people online are spinning over the audacity one man had with a woman he recently met on an app. As the woman herself, Sarah Jo or @charliesmom_gotitgoingon, explained on TikTok, her date decided to cancel on her after she sent a photo of herself, postpartum, to him. But some people wondered if he really had to point out that she had “loose skin."
The mom spilled her dating disaster story in a video from January 19.
The video showed Sarah Jo’s text conversation with an anonymous man — and boy oh boy, was it a doozy.
"Most recent pics taken from Jan 1st of this year lol," the screengrab showed she wrote. She also included a photo of herself sitting on the beach in a bathing suit – looking gorgeous, I may add.
"Yeah the loose skin from the pregnancy is the only thing. I appreciate you being so understanding, that's rare I promise," he responded.
"No problem, I guess have a good one lol. Nice meeting you,” she wrote back.
“When he asks you on a date then cancels because of your loose skin,” she wrote on the video’s text overlay. “Where do men find the audacity,” she added in the caption.
Sarah Jo seemed to have a good sense of humor about the conversation and even superimposed herself eating a muffin over the footage.
People in the comments section were stunned.
"Get him one of those silicone dolls so he won’t be completely alone the rest of his life," one commenter joked.
"I literally paused, screenshot, zoomed in — I STILL CAN'T SEE ANY FLAWS. Seriously, who is this man??? You definitely dodged a bullet," another commenter wrote.
"He told on himself, love that for you," a third person commented.
Somehow, some way, some people thought he had a point.
"That’s his preference. ESP if it’s not his baby," one commenter argued. "Not anything to post his pic for, he was polite about it, you just felt slighted by his reaction."
"She's pretty. Why is it no longer okay to be unattracted to a physical feature? I agree with you," another commenter wrote.
And a third commenter put it this way: "Smart man…. Nothing wrong with standards. Don’t settle for less. That’s what the ladies often say."
In a follow-up video, Sarah Jo explained what made her swipe right on this bozo in the first place.
“Some of us just like red flags,” she joked. “I don’t take online dating seriously anymore. It’s not that I don’t want something serious, I would love to be in a happy relationship that’s healthy, but my experiences with online dating have just set the bar so low at this point that I just assume that everyone is on some level of joking with their profile.”
In fact, she thought the man was joking with her when he turned her down for her photo and explained that she let him off politely because she was so “caught off guard.”
“I’m not naturally a rip into him kind of person, so I didn’t feel the need to cuss him out or anything like that,” she added. “The negative energy required to be a d— back to him — it wasn’t something I was interested in. I didn't feel the need to do that.”
In the future, Sarah Jo swore she was going to screen profiles a little closer. And hey, at least she got some internet gold after the whole ordeal. That's something — right?
“Now we all just get to laugh about it on TikTok,” she said.
