Mom’s Egg Salad Tacos at a Sleepover? The Internet Has Questions

When you think of a sleepover with your besties as a teenager, you probably remember ordering pizza, stuffing your face full of chips, and washing it all down with ice cold cans of soda. So far so good, right? Well, when it comes to one mom on TikTok, that would be entirely wrong. The mom, whose name is Joanna, shared a video making her special recipe of egg salad tacos for her 13-year-old daughter to take to a sleepover. Understandably, the internet is a bit outraged.

Mostly, other TikTok users have questions. Like, why egg salad? And what do egg salad tacos even taste like? Others want to know if Joanna’s recipe and story behind the video are supposed to be some super late April fool’s prank. Honestly, it’s hard not to get a bit up in arms about egg salad tacos, let alone egg salad tacos for a kids’ sleepover.

The internet has thoughts on a mom who made egg salad tacos for her daughter to take for a sleepover.

When Joanna shared her TikTok about the egg salad tacos, she wrote in the caption that it’s part of her apparent 30 days of egg salad recipes. Which, again, makes you wonder what she is thinking. Aside from the astronomically rising prices of eggs, it’s no secret that a lot of eggs leads to a certain level of flatulence. But, outside of both of those factors, the recipe itself seems legit.

Joanna mashes eggs and adds mayo, taco seasoning, and onion. Then, she fills crunchy taco shells with the egg salad and adds each filled shell to a container.

“Her friends are going to love this surprise that she brings with her,” Joanna says in the video.

It’s not the first time you have to wonder if Joanna is just trolling users. But because she doesn’t say otherwise, everyone appears to take this video and recipe at face value.

“Might as well add some boiled cabbage and cold tuna casserole too, then they can play ‘guess the fart,'” one person commented.

Another wrote, “If someone told me they were bringing tacos and there was egg salad inside I’d call the police.”

Someone else shared their own trauma related to egg salad: “My mom made me take an egg salad sandwich to kindergarten. Ashley Kelly said it smelled like my lunchbox farted and I’m still traumatized by egg salad. please rethink this.”

And the hits just kept coming for Joanna in her comment section, with another person writing, “Oh cool, you brought egg salad tacos – because nothing says ‘I want to be invited back’ like weaponized mayonnaise.”

The mom has other interesting recipes that people don’t quite understand.

Thanks to Joanna’s apparent 30 days of egg salad recipes on her TikTok profile, her other videos show similarly strange recipes that people don’t quite understand. In another video, Joanna shares a recipe for a buffalo ranch egg salad. Elsewhere on her page, she shared a video of egg salad ice cream, which one user commented had to be click bait of some kind.

At this point, it’s hard not to wonder if Joanna’s egg salad recipes are indeed rage bait for viewers on TikTok. If that’s the case, though, she is doing something right. With more than 4.5 million overall likes and more than 76,000 followers, Joanna and her egg salad are doing pretty well.
