My Bestie Wants Me To Go $20K Into Debt for Her Wedding & Now I Have To End Our Friendship

Being chosen as a bridesmaid for a friend’s wedding is a huge deal. Many brides only want their very best friends to stand next to them on their big day. And while it can be exciting to be chosen, it can also be overwhelming. Some brides want big-time financial commitments from their wedding parties, and not everyone can give as much as the bride wants.

We’ve seen our fair share of bridezilla nightmares, but a recent TikTok post might take the cake. TikToker Macy Daly, who posts as @macydalydog, shared screenshots of text messages from a bride-to-be that left people shook. The bride essentially wants Macy to go into massive debt just to be at her wedding. The guilt trip and audacity are positively wild.

This bride is something else.

Macy shared a text she sent to her friend, the bride-to-be, asking for a few minutes to talk about the wedding and mounting expenses.

“Hey, are you available to talk this week? I really am just not sure I’m going to be able to afford everything. With the outfit and trips, we are nearing 20k which is basically my student loan payment,” she wrote.

Macy asked if there was any way to cut down on some of the costs, and apparently, there wasn’t. Not only was her friend not available to chat, but she didn’t seem very concerned about Macy’s financial health and wondered how she wasn’t more prepared.

“Hey girl. Uhm sorry to say but unfortunately not really,” the bride-to-be responded. “I did lay this out in my bridal party pdf. I’m not sure why it’s such a surprise actually I’m sure you’ve been budgeting this for a while.”

The bride wants Macy to attend the wedding because they’re supposedly besties.

Not only does she not want to take no for an answer, but she also asks Macy why she can’t just put all of the wedding expenses on a credit card.

“I’d ask you to please just find a way to make it happen, you know? It’s once in a lifetime. Don’t you have a high budget Amex? In a pinch maybe you could use that and figure it out later?” one text reads.

The bride then suggested Macy take a personal loan to pay for the expenses.

Before Macy even had a chance to respond, another text came in.

This time, the bride inquired about the bachelorette party and whether her friends had considered how they would honor her.

“Are the girls planning something special to gift me at the bachelorette party? Just want to make sure you’re thinking of it. No pressure, this is just the most stressed I’ve ever been planning this for everyone to enjoy and I really think I could use a treat,” the bridezilla questioned.

Macy’s about done with this friendship.

She captioned her video, “I’m seriously trying here, besties, but you might be right that I have to end this friendship, but I don’t want to.”

TikTokers told her to run.

“Taking a loan for SOMEONE ELSES wedding is obscene,” someone wrote.

The money was crazy to a lot of people. Like this person who wrote, “Like others said … absolutely not. 20k is actually INSANE. No best friend would ask you to go in debt for their wedding.”

Macy shared another set of images from the bride.

She had a lengthy list of demands captioned, “because people seem to think this is satire.”

The list includes her “musts,” like weekly check-ins and beauty routines. There will also be dress fittings and multiple parties that all bridesmaids are required to attend. She also asked her attendants to give her their credit card information, you know, just in case.

A wedding professional made a keen observation that gave her the ick. “As a wedding planner, I can tell you right now that font told me everything I need to know,” she commented.

Yikes. We don’t know what Macy will do, but we are following along for all the tea.
