This Compact Sterilizer Is Perfect for Every Parent Who Wants a Germ-Free Home This Fall

This year has been … crazy. And we're only three-fourths of the way through it! Most of us are spending more time at home than ever before, and we're way more aware of how clean our homes are. We all want to keep ourselves healthy, and one good way of doing that is keeping our homes free of germs. Of course, cleaning the floors and counters with disinfectant sprays only goes so far. What about all those other products in our homes that carry germs — like phones, keys, wallets, and basically everything kids touch? Well, that's where a sterilizer comes in. Looking for a great 3-in-1 sterilizer and dryer that works for all sorts of household items? Check out the Coral UV Sterilizer and Dryer!

What is the Coral UV Sterilizer and Dryer?

Coral UV

Coral UV is a lab-tested sterilizer and dryer that uses UV-C light to disinfect products and eliminate 99.9% of germs in as little as 10 minutes. Coral UV has been proven to eliminate E. Coli, Salmonella, Staph, and other germs. Coral UV has a built-in dryer that uses a warm temperature to safely dry plastic, glass, and silicone. The sterilizer is much larger than others on the market, but still small enough to fit comfortably on your countertop.

How does it work?

Coral UV uses UV-C light to disinfect. Here's how it works, according to Coral UV: "[UV-C] Has the highest energy and can damage a bacteria’s DNA. Natural sunlight does not have UVC as it is filtered completely by the atmosphere. UV-C light is artificially produced and is often used in labs, hospitals and water treatment plants for disinfection."

With regards to safety, here's what Coral UV says: "Is UV-C harmful to our body?
The simple answer is yes. Over-exposure can cause health problems such as skin cancer or vision damage. We never recommend to stare at UV-C lights for a long period of time. However how long and how much defines over-exposure is not clear. Therefore, our product adopts a top open approach and child safety switch to seal the UV light within the unit and minimizes the exposure to UV-C."

My Experience

Coral UV sent me one of its sterilizers in PR, and I couldn't wait to try it out. I was worried it would be too big to comfortably fit in my small NYC apartment, but it really didn't take up much more space than my coffee maker. I set it up on the floor, since I knew I wouldn't need it all the time, so I could just put it in a cabinet and take it out when needed. I took the sterilizer out of the box and was surprised that setup was so easy. I quickly sterilized a few products I knew were covered in germs — like my phone, keys, and face mask. Then I turned to some of the kids' items in my home (I don't have any children, but my 3-year-old niece comes over from time to time). Now that I know how easy it is to sterilize products, I'll definitely be using the sterilizer for my dog's toys, my makeup, my fiance's grooming items, and more.

Try it yourself.
