As the mother of teens and tweens, I know that Owala water bottles are where it’s at right now. The colorful flip-top and sip water bottles have even completely replaced Stanleys among my girls, but I haven’t yet made the switch.
In my mind, Owalas are for the kids. They’re trendy and colorful, ideal for teens, but maybe not so much for moms.
But my perception of Owalas as just for the youngsters is about to change, thanks to the newest Owala 24-ounce FreeSip water bottle drop in a whimsical floral garden design made just for moms.
Mark your calendars for 11 a.m. EST May 1, when the water bottle goes on sale exclusively at Dick’s Sporting Goods – just in time for Mother’s Day!
Garden Whimsy Owala 24 oz. FreeSip

If you haven’t tried an Owala water bottle yet, allow me to update you on why they are so appealing: The Owala has a locking lid that opens to reveal a unique dual-spout design. The top of the spout is open, so you can tip and drink from the water bottle if that’s your preference, or you can sip directly from the bottom of the spout that’s attached to an interior straw.
Even though I personally own a Stanley, I do occasionally borrow my daughter’s Owalas (used one last night in a moment of desperation during three hours of practices actually because I forgot mine!) and I admit that the sip-or-tip feature is pretty cool. The straw is tucked neatly inside the water bottle, so there’s nothing sticking out of the top that you have to worry about.
Plus, can we talk about this super-cute, whimsical floral garden design? It’s still colorful enough to fit the bright Owala profile but adds a touch of subtlety that feels in line with something I could carry around as a mom. (And thanks to the locking lid, you can actually throw this water bottle in a bag without worry of leaks!)
Mother's Day Owala Stainless Steel Water Bottle

This garden design Owala is the 24-ounce size, which is smaller than the traditional 40-ounce Stanley but is the perfect size for quick errands, practice, or the gym. It also fits neatly in a bag, purse, or backpack. And again, thanks to that leak-free design, it can be safely tucked into a bag with the lid closed.
Like all Owalas, the garden design features:
- stainless steel construction
- dual FreeSip spout
- triple-layer insulation (my daughters’ Owalas will keep ice for over 24 hours)
- wide opening for easy cleaning
- dishwasher-safe lid (the body is recommended hand-wash only)
- hinged loop for ease of carrying
- BPA, lead, and phthalate free
I admit that I haven’t made the Owala transition yet, but this floral design has me really tempted. Come 11 a.m. May 1, you may just find me picking up this water bottle for myself or not-so-subtly sending my husband to buy it for a Mother’s Day gift. Because mama needs to stay hydrated.
