Saying yes to a marriage proposal should make for a joyous day. As you imagine the life you’re going to share with the person you love, you would think that you wouldn’t be plagued with any worries or anxieties. But for one influencer bride, that was not the case. Moments after her boyfriend got down on one knee and gave her an engagement ring, things went awry.
The bride’s engagement ring ended up in the ocean, and the couple went through a roller coaster of emotions. The whole thing was captured on video, which means it was shared on TikTok.

The romantic moment turned stressful.
Katie Nicholson, 24, said yes to her boyfriend Steve in a picturesque oceanside proposal. She accepted the diamond ring he presented to her. To celebrate the beautiful moment, the two took advantage of the scenery and ran into the water for some pictures to mark their milestone. That’s when their celebratory moment turned anxiety-inducing. Katie’s ring slipped off into the ocean.

Katie thought there was no way they would find the ring.
A series of photos captured the whole thing, including the moment the couple noticed that the ring was no longer on Katie’s finger. “Wait the ring …,” she wrote on top of an image of her and Steve looking concerned in the water.
In the next image, we see an entire group of people in the ocean, bent over, searching. “Everyone around us started helping,” Katie wrote. As the search party got underway, Katie wasn’t too optimistic. “There’s no way we’re finding it. It’s in the OCEAN,” she wrote.
The couple got lucky.
But it was Katie’s lucky day in more ways than one. Not only did she get to become a fiancée, a random stranger found her ring. A man she described as a “miracle guy” located the ring in knee-deep, ocean water.
If you’re the type of person who believes in signs, finding a diamond ring in the ocean is a pretty good one that Kristen and Steve are supposed to be together.
'Now get that thing insured,' one user advised.
People on the internet offered their well wishes but also had some advice for the young couple.
“Congratulations, now get that thing insured," one user wrote.
“And now you have an additional person in your wedding party,” another TikTok commented.
Other people described Katie’s good fortune as a miracle. Now Katie and Steve definitely have an amazing story to tell.
