A Mississippi mom is facing drug charges after the deaths of her two sons. Amber Goldman was arrested on drug possession charges after the boys allegedly drowned in a swimming pool. Details about the circumstances of their deaths are still emerging, so it’s unclear thus far who called for help after they were found by the pool. As police continue their investigation, there is a chance Goldman will face additional charges more directly related to the deaths of her children.
Gautier police and fire personnel “responded to a distress call” at a home on October 20, 2025, around 5:30 p.m., Gautier police shared in a Facebook post. Two young boys were found unresponsive by a swimming pool.
First responders immediately began resuscitation measures, and the boys were taken to the hospital. Sadly, they did not survive. According to Jackson County Deputy Coroner James Prisock, the boys, 2 and 5 years old, died by drowning, WLOX reported.

It is currently unclear how the boys ended up in the pool.
Police announced that the boys’ mother, 36-year-old Goldman, was arrested in connection with their deaths. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
“The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are pending,” Gautier police noted.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy that has deeply affected our community,” Chief David Bever shared in a statement obtained by WLOX. “Our hearts are with the family, friends, and first responders impacted by this heartbreaking loss. We ask everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as investigators continue to seek answers.”
