A family is trying to cope with the sudden loss of a mom of one living in Las Vegas. Briana Flowers was shot and killed in her home, alongside a male friend. Police are still investigating exactly what happened but have mostly ruled out murder-suicide. Flowers was the mom to an elementary school-aged son, who was the unfortunate person to find his mom’s body after her death. Thankfully, the boy is being surrounded by a loving family who will keep him close and give him all the support he needs. This isn’t going to be something he will ever fully recover from, so it’s good to know he has people in his corner.
The 7-year-old boy called 911 around 7:20 a.m. on January 28, 2026, KSNV reported. He told the dispatcher that his mom was injured and that police needed to come to their home. When officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived, they found two people, a woman and a man, with serious injuries. They were declared dead at the scene.
The following day, detectives said the two adults had been shot and that authorities considered the case a double-homicide.
On February 2, the two people were identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Briana Flowers and Anfernee Pollard, both 31, KSNV reported.

“Nobody deserved anything like this. It’s sick. It’s uncalled,” Flowers’ sister, Shatiera Davis, told KSNV. Davis remembered Flowers as a “a ball of fun” who loved spending time with her loved ones and traveling.
Since her death, the family has been focusing on supporting her son, Amill. “We’re just trying to make sure Amill gets the help he needs,” Davis shared with the outlet.
“I just want Briana to know that her family loves her,” Davis told Fox 5. “We’re going to step up and make sure Amill has that foundation that he needs in this time. We’re going to make sure he’s okay.”
Flowers’ family spoke with the outlet, saying she had been fearful in the wake of a domestic violence incident. After a confrontation with her boyfriend, she called the police. She allegedly had bruises and injuries that required medical attention, they said. “She basically told me her ex-boyfriend had tried to kill her,” Davis said.
Those close to Flowers said she began ignoring calls from unknown numbers and had noticed activity around her home that seemed suspicious.
“She saw someone looking in her blinds in her house while she was asleep,” Davis said, per Fox 5. “She told me, she said, ‘I just had a feeling to wake up and I looked out my window and someone was staring at me.’”
When Flowers went outside, she reportedly saw someone getting into an Uber, Davis said, and believed it was her ex-boyfriend. Friends had been taking turns staying with the mom to make sure she felt safe. One of those friends may have been Pollard, who was visiting from Belize.
A GoFundMe account has been created to help bring Pollard’s body to Belize. Davis also created a GoFundMe account for Flowers’ son.
“Amill was his mom’s whole world, and she poured all her love, time, and energy into him,” she wrote on the page. “This fundraiser is dedicated to honoring her memory by creating a special fund for Amill’s future – think education, extracurricular activities that he’ll love, and anything that will help him thrive and grow into the amazing young man his mother always knew he’d be.”
Police say the murders are still under investigation. No suspect has been taken into custody thus far.
