Casey Anthony Rebrands Herself as ‘Legal Advocate’ on New TikTok Account & People Are Outraged

In 2008, Casey Anthony became a household name after her 3-year-old daughter Caylee, was found dead after being missing for months. At the time, Anthony was the biggest suspect in her daughter’s death. And in the years since, people have stood firm on that belief she was responsible. There have been documentaries and other specials made about the case, but ultimately, a jury found the young mother not guilty.

In the years since Caylee’s death, Anthony has been in and out of the spotlight. Now, she seems to be making a strong public showing … on social media. This week, Anthony shocked people by creating a TikTok account and a newsletter on Substack.

It looks like she is trying to rebrand her image.

In the three-minute video, Anthony announces the “first of probably many” TikToks.

“I am a legal advocate, I am a researcher, I’ve been in the legal field since 2011 and in this capacity, I feel that it’s necessary, if I’m going to continue to operate appropriately as a legal advocate, that I start to advocate for myself and also advocate for my daughter,” she says.

She introduces herself for people who may not remember her or the case.

“For those of you who don’t know, my name is Casey Anthony. My daughter is Caylee Anthony. My parents are George and Cindy Anthony. This is not about them. This is not in response to anything that they have said or done. … The whole point of this is for me to begin to reintroduce myself,” she continues.

She doesn’t directly call out the case, but she does allude to it in her statement on the social media platform. “I feel that it’s important that I use this platform that was thrust upon me and now look at as a blessing, as opposed to the curse that it has been since 2008,” she continues.

Anthony claims that she is a supporter of marginalized communities.

In the video, she calls herself “a proponent for the LGBTQ community, for legal community, women’s rights.”

Additionally, she claims that she has big plans for using her platform. “I am proverbially standing in the light, embracing this piece, still going to keep my privacy intact … and I will explain in great detail why it’s so important for people to protect their privacy. … With the current climate in our country especially, it’s that much more important,” she says.
