Dad Kicked Off Plane After Demanding Airline Give His 2-Year-Old Son Free First-Class Seat

We live in a world where some adults seem to have lost their common sense and often their manners. A family in China recently caught heat after they reportedly caused a commotion on an airplane because they were unsatisfied with their seats. They reportedly demanded their son get a seat with them in first class, even though they didn’t purchase him a first-class ticket.

The situation reportedly escalated quickly, ending in a flight cancellation that left nearly 300 passengers stranded on December 30, the South China Morning Post reported. The incident is just another example of adults misbehaving.

There appeared to be some confusion about the family’s tickets.

Per the Morning Post, the man and his wife both had first-class tickets for a flight from Beijing to Chengdu, but they purchased an economy-class ticket for their young son. The father allegedly thought that because he had purchased the two first-class tickets, he was entitled to upgrade the third ticket for his son for free.

Several people tried to explain the policy to the man.

According to the Morning Post, both passengers and flight crew members attempted to reason with the man about the ticketing policy, but he refused to listen.

“What gives you the right to order me about?” he yelled at the man in a video obtained by the news outlet.

An angry woman yelled back, “You’ve wasted too much of our time and we won’t tolerate it any longer.”

The situation apparently got very heated.

In a video shot by a man named Zhao, the father is shown embroiled in an argument with several people on the plane, including the flight crew. He can reportedly be heard yelling, “Stop swearing at me. You have no right to do that.”

The argument began around 11 a.m. and lasted for hours as the man’s 2-year-old son cried, confused about what had to be a very scary situation for a toddler.

Police escorted the man off the plane.

The man finally exited the plane around 2 p.m., when police forced him off. His temper tantrum wasted hours for 300 people, ultimately ending with a canceled flight. The airline reportedly said the cancellation was due to weather, but many believe it was because of the man’s actions, the New York Post reported.

“The funniest part is, they don’t admit to human-induced delays, as the cancellation is claimed to be due to weather reasons,” one commenter wrote.

The whole situation drew criticism.

The New York Post reported that comments on the video pointed fingers at the man and the flight crew.

“The man is so selfish,” one person wrote.

“Keeping the quarrel going for hours? The problem-solving skills of the crew are poor,” another person shared.

“He can switch seats,” someone else wrote. “Let him sit in economy class, and have the mum take care of the child in the first-class cabin.”
