Darvin Flores Caballeros, a Virginia man, has been arrested in Florida. The man allegedly abandoned his newborn, who was then found by a good Samaritan. Caballeros then fled to Florida, hundreds of miles away from where the incident took place.
Police still have a lot of questions about what led to the incident. Investigators are working to piece together everything that happened, especially because the man then fled so far away. Details are still emerging.

The newborn was found by a good Samaritan. Investigators didn’t report how long the infant was in the snow before it was found. The WCSO report states that the child belongs to Caballeros, but does not indicate what kind of relationship the man had with the mother. After the attack, which happened on February 12, the mother was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries.”
