A mom in Houston, Texas, spent time in jail after being arrested on Thanksgiving Day. For reasons currently unknown to investigators, Danielle Jensen left her home around midnight with her 3-month-old son in tow. She wandered nearly half a mile from home with the baby, who was not dressed for the cold temperatures. She was later found by police reportedly passed out drunk on a street corner with the baby in her arms. The baby is now in the care of the state while Jensen deals with the legal ramifications of her actions.
According to court records obtained by KTRK, the 36-year-old mother took her son out on the night of November 27, 2025. The baby was “without adequate clothing” for the 47-degree night. Police say she fell asleep on a sidewalk at an intersection about a half mile from her home. When Jensen appeared in court, she was described as “extremely intoxicated.”
Officials said the boy was injured, but according to the outlet, no details were given about what could have caused the injury. It was reported that although Jensen initially had the baby in his stroller, she eventually picked him up, per KTRK. The injury could have been related to that, but at this point that is purely speculation.
Regardless of how the baby became injured, he was taken to a hospital to be checked out before being placed in the care of CPS, KTRK reported.
Meanwhile, Jensen was arrested, charged with endangering a child. Prosecutors argued against a personal recognizance bond, saying the mother was “a clear danger to her own child and the community,” the outlet noted.
However, she was ultimately released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
