Teacher Allegedly Groomed 16-Year-Old To Have Sex With Her & Her Boyfriend & Paid Her $100 Not To Tell

A Nebraska teacher and her boyfriend have been arrested after allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student. Elizabeth Love has been accused of grooming a now-high school student with the intention of her boyfriend having sex with the girl. Thankfully, the girl knew something felt off and reported the awkward and uncomfortable interactions to police. She saved herself from what could have been a terrifying experience, and now, the adults are looking at life in prison for their attempts.

Elizabeth Love and her boyfriend, Jarid “Jack” Krause, were arrested on October 24, 2025, the Holdrege Police Department announced in a news release. They face charges of one count each of sex trafficking a minor. Love, who also goes by Jamie, is also charged with one count of sexual grooming by a school employee. The couple was arrested after a current high school student Love worked with as a teacher reported recent “inappropriate interactions” with them.

Love, 36, works as a transition coordinator and teacher of the deaf at Education Service Unit 11, or ESU-11. Through her job, she travels to up to 15 schools throughout south central Nebraska, KSNB reported. According to the outlet, Love is on leave, per a statement from ESU-11. Her photo is no longer listed on its website.

An arrest affidavit obtained by People, an officer with the Holdrege Police Department was alerted to a report of sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl on October 14. During a forensic interview, the girl told police she’d worked with Love since she was in seventh grade. Since then, “they have developed a close relationship which has evolved into talking about things going on in [her] life beyond the normal scope of a speech therapist/educator,” the affidavit states.

The girl also told police that at one point she had even made plans to live with Love on weekdays to attend school in a different district.

She said that in August, she was in the car with Love while the teacher was on the phone with Krause, 43. During the phone call, Krause allegedly talked to Love about having sex, and the teacher reportedly told the girl she “would be willing to share” him with her, the affadavit reads, per People. The conversation made her so “uncomfortable” that she abandoned plans to spend time with Love.

On October 11, the girl was picked up and taken to Love’s home by the woman. While the teen was there, she alleges that Krause took her to an upstairs bedroom and requested what she believed was sex. She said she declined the offer, asking to leave.

A police sergeant wrote in the affidavit that investigators watched security footage which showed Love following the girl as she walked home, People reported. Eventually, the girl got into Love’s car and they drove to her home. The student told investigators that Love apologized. She then told the girl not to tell anyone what happened, giving her $100 in $20 installments.

Love later told police it wasn’t intended as “hush money” but money to buy a cellphone.

According to the affidavit, Love and Krause had begun planning to proposition the girl as early as April. They set August as their time to see “if she’s not feeling it,” going as far as creating a “code phrase” for Love to “know if she’s interested or not,” People reported. Love allegedly told Krause she hoped it “works out,” with the girl, but “if she doesn’t want to, then I’ll keep looking.”

Krause referred to the couple finding “our person” in a conversation with Love, the affidavit stated. “We’ll find the girl that appreciates us for what we are and provide. Someone who sees the value of our family and one that loves us both more than anything.”

“While the investigation into this matter is still ongoing and law enforcement is not aware of any inappropriate interactions with other current or former students, the Holdrege Police Department is interested in speaking with anyone who has any additional information about this current allegation or who may have had prior interactions with Ms. Love or Mr. Krause, which they now believe is suspicious,” Holdrege police shared in their statement.

Love is being held at the Phelps County Jail on a bond of $250,000, as is Jack Krause. If convicted, they face up to life in prison and a lifetime spot on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.
