16-Year-Old Beauty Queen Found Dead in House Under Construction After Night Out at Bar With Friends

A Brazilian family is demanding answers after a teenage pageant queen was found dead. Gabrielly Moreira was found in a home that is reportedly under construction. The teen had allegedly been out with friends before her death, but they are all telling different stories about what could have happened. Now, her father is pushing to look further into it so the family can learn the truth.

On September 19, 2025, Gabrielly Moreira, a 16-year-old pageant queen, was found dead in Ceará, Brazil. According to the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, the girl was in a house currently under construction. Her body was found by emergency services, who were called to the scene. The teen had reportedly been out at a bar with friends before they ended up at the house.

Her father, Valbério Moreira, also arrived at the home where his daughter was found. He told the newspaper that his daughter was covered in bruises with blood on her chin. There were also two bottles of vodka in the area, one empty and one still will alcohol in it.

The man also claimed that the friends with his daughter before her death gave contradictory accounts of what happened. One girl told him Gabrielly went into a dark room with a boy, the newspaper reported. About 25 minutes later, “he came out screaming,” she said. The teen was already dying when they went in to check on her.

Another boy who was there, however, said Gabrielly “simply felt bad and fell to the ground.”

“We want to know the truth. It’s a very mysterious thing,” Valbério Moreira said.

Officers from the Pedra Branca Municipal Guard and state forensic officials were at the scene of the girl’s death, El Tiempo reported. An autopsy has been ordered.

Gabrielly, who had nearly 10,000 followers on Instagram, was famous locally. After being named princess of the Pedra Branca Parade in 2024, she was chosen as its queen in 2025.

The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Water Resources, which oversees the parade, paid tribute to the teen on Instagram. “Her presence was always synonymous with joy, charisma, and dedication, becoming a role model for the youth and the entire community,” the statement began. “In this moment of grief, we stand in solidarity with family, friends and the entire population of Pedra Branca, praying to God to comfort their hearts and grant them the strength to overcome such a great loss.”

Elza Gomes Martins Full-Time Middle School, where the teen was a student, also shared a post on Instagram about her death.

“Gabrielly will forever be a part of our school’s history, being remembered for the affection, joy and dedication that marked her coexistence among colleagues, teachers and the entire school community,” the post shared.
