An Indiana woman is recovering after being shot multiple times by her ex-boyfriend. After the shooting, the ex, Giovanny Javier De Jesus, fled the scene. Thankfully, someone called the police, and the woman was taken to the hospital to treat her injuries. At the time of the shooting, she was holding on to her child, who was relatively unscathed in the incident despite being so close. The woman will likely recover from her injuries, but her ex-boyfriend faces a series of charges for the shooting.
Officers from the Fishers Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on Saturday, June 21, 2025. When they arrived at the scene, they found a young woman who had been shot âmultiple times.â
Police officers took care of the woman and her baby at the scene until EMS showed up. Both were then taken to the hospital for additional treatment.
The suspect, 21-year-old Giovanny Javier De Jesus, is reportedly the father of the baby the woman was holding. De Jesus fled the scene before police arrived, they said. But witnesses provided crucial information to police, including a description of De Jesus and the car he was in.
The woman needed surgery, WISH reported. She is now listed in stable condition. Her child allegedly only had minor abrasions from the incident.Â
âWhile our team was working to find De Jesus, he turned himself in to the Decatur Police Department (Indiana) just before 11:00 PM on June 21,â Fishers Police said in its statement. Once notified, Fishers Police took custody of De Jesus, and he was then taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
De Jesus faces multiple charges, FOX 59 reported. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery, one count of intimidation with a deadly weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm, and one count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
