Many moms know that taking a trip to Target for some shopping (and maybe a coffee) is an extremely therapeutic experience. Walking through the aisles of the store, looking at all of the cute housewares – especially sniffing candles and touching throw pillows – brings a very specific sense of calm.
One little girl in Ohio evidently understands the kind of serotonin boost that a trip to Target brings, so she jumped in her mom’s car and took a trip there by herself.

She just needed a little Sunday stroll at a local Target.
Around 9 a.m. Sunday, September 15, police were called and the girl’s family reported her and their 2020 Nissan Rogue missing, according to police reports via The Kansas City Star. The Bedford Police Department said the family hadn’t seen the girl since 7 a.m.

A neighbor was able to help.
Police reached out to a neighbor, who was able to provide authorities with surveillance footage of the girl driving the car by herself. Police also received a call that a little girl was seen driving an SUV that matched the one her family reported missing, according to the Star. Bainbridge police reported finding the SUV in a Target parking lot.
The whole situation makes for a funny story.
“Well I’ve finally found a woman who’s in more of a hurry to shop at Target than my wife,” the Bedford Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
“That’s right an 8 year old took mommy’s car this morning and drove to Target in Bainbridge to shop. Not sure what she bought, or if she was even able to use her Target app to save 5%,” the post read. “We did let her finish her Frappuccino. We’re not mean.“
It's impressive that the little girl managed the trip all alone.
According to police, the girl was found safely inside the store by Bainbridge police officers and was “home safe.”
She made quite a journey to get her alone time — the Target where she shopped is about a 10-mile drive from the little girl’s home. Police also shared that she told them the only thing she hit was a mailbox. What an icon.
