‘You Took Her from Me’ Mom Says After Her Boyfriend Was Charged With Killing Her 5-Month-Old Baby

An Ohio man is facing murder charges after the death of an infant. Glenn McIntosh was allegedly supposed to be caring for his girlfriend’s baby while she was out. But when she got home, the mom soon noticed that something was wrong with her little girl. She was in for a shock when they got to the hospital and she learned how serious her daughter’s injuries were. Police are still investigating the infant’s death, and so far, a motive for the killing hasn’t been announced.

Medics from the Madison Township Fire Department were called around 10:50 a.m. on October 13, 2025, for an infant having trouble breathing, WBNS reported. The baby girl was rushed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition. Sadly, she was declared dead at 6:32 p.m.

After her death, police interviewed 32-year-old McIntosh, who was allegedly caring for the girl before she died. He was then charged with murder.

During McIntosh’s first court hearing on October 15, Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Shania Goble gave more details about the death of the baby girl, who was identified as 5-month-old Ameira Reynolds, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

According to Goble, McIntosh was dating the girl’s mother, but he is not biologically related to the baby. He had been living with the woman and her children since their relationship started three months ago.

Ameira’s mother went out with her two other children the morning of October 13, leaving the baby with McIntosh. When they got home around 10 a.m., he left almost immediately. The mom thought the baby was sleeping but then noticed she was limp and unresponsive. That’s when she was rushed to the hospital.

When the infant arrived at the hospital, she was given a CAT scan, which confirmed multiple skull fractures consistent with “severe blunt force trauma.”

The mom began “frantically” texting McIntosh to find out what happened to her baby girl. Eventually, he replied, saying the baby had fallen.

A statement from the mother was read during McIntosh’s court appearance, WSYX reported.

“You asked me to trust you,” she said. “I trusted you with my baby and you took her from me. I don’t deserve to have to bury my five month old baby; I can’t believe I let my guard down and trusted you. You hurt her and let her suffer. A baby, a defenseless baby. How dare you. You are a monster, and you will reap what you sow.”

The mom started a GoFundMe account for funeral costs. In the post, she called Ameira a “sweet angel” who was taken “way too soon.”

“Her big eyes, that beautiful smile and all of our precious memories of her will live on forever,” the mom wrote.

McIntosh was issued a $2 million cash surety bond on October 15. He also has been ordered to stay away from the family.
