Social media has exposed us to the best and worst of human behavior. I’d argue it’s also emboldened people to broadcast their opinions instead of keeping them to themselves when they really, really should. Sometimes, it can feel like minding one’s own business is a lost art. In our society, women often bear the brunt of unsolicited opinions and advice. That's true whether it comes in the form of criticism and policing of our bodies, our parenting, or our attire.
One young new mom and fitness influencer from Utah ran into the latter when she was simply trying to complete a workout at her local gym.

Kylen Suttner was recording her workout when she captured a very rude interaction.
The 21-year-old content creator just gave birth to a son in December, Fox News reported. In documenting her life, she’s also vlogged about her fitness journey. She was filming one of her workouts at a gym in Ogen, Utah, when a woman approached her, complaining about what she wore that day. The TikToker caught the whole inappropriate interaction on camera.
A woman asked her if she 'thought she could walk around like that.'
Kylen was lifting weights when a woman off camera starts speaking to her. “Do you really think you can walk around the gym wearing that?” the woman asks.
Dumbfounded, Kaylen responds, “What?”
“Your top,” the woman continues. “Your boobs are hanging out. We’re in a public place can you be respectful?”
Clearly shocked, Kylen says, “Are you kidding me?”

'Put a shirt on next time,' the woman says.
If Kylen was trying to send a subtle hint that the woman should shut up, the person didn’t catch it. She kept going. “We’re in a public place. Do you not see everyone around you? No one wants to see your boobs hanging out,” the woman says.
Kylen takes a deep breath before saying, “I’m fine thank you.”
Even that wasn’t enough. “Well, I don’t think you are,” the woman responds.
Kylen dismisses the woman with a “Bye” and a flitting hand gesture.
The strange woman keeps talking. “Whatever. Put a shirt on next time,” she grumbles.
Kylen said the comments won't keep her from doing what she does.
Kylen, who was wearing a cropped tank top with a slight v and workout shorts, was and still is confused. “Maybe her boyfriend was staring at me or something and it got her triggered. I don’t know,” Kaylen told SWNS, according to Fox News.
More than the woman’s intrusion, Kylen was more upset that she didn’t do a better job standing up for herself. When she posted the video on TikTok, she captioned it, “guess it’s time to build a home gym.”
But in reality, the incident — while inappropriate and bizarre — won’t affect Kylen’s workout routine. “I would never let something like that stop me from going to the gym or wearing what I want,” she vowed.
