14-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Admitted to Stabbing & Killing His Mom Plus Another Woman

A teenage boy in Pennsylvania is facing multiple charges after allegedly killing his mom and another woman in their home. Details are still emerging about what might have led Judah Courtney to commit the murders, but the teen allegedly told multiple people about his crimes. These alleged confessions finally made their way to police, who arrested the 14-year-old. Now, he is being tried as an adult for his crimes. But there is definitely more to the story.

Police were called to a home in Carrolltown Borough, Pennsylvania, around 6 p.m. on September 29, 2025, for a welfare check, WJAC reported. Investigators said the bodies of two women were found in the home. They have been identified as 32-year-old Olivia Courtney and 38-year-old Ashley Cook.

Police were called after a neighbor had an “interaction” with Judah Courtney. According to an affidavit, the teen allegedly told the neighbor someone had “killed his dad and aunt.” Investigators confirmed that Olivia Courtney is the boy’s biological mom. Ashley Cook was described as a friend of the family.

Olivia Courtney and Cook were found on the living room floor with multiple stab wounds in their heads and torsos. Investigators said they both had massive blood loss as a result of the stab wounds.

Pennsylvania State Police troopers noted that the teen made “questionable” statements to police, per WJAC. He also had blood on his clothes and visible injuries on his hands that looked like they were recent. The neighbor later elaborated on the statements made by the teen, who allegedly said, “They’re going to think I did it.”

Judah Courtney allegedly claimed to have taken a shower before finding the bodies, saying, “I just can’t believe this happened!” Investigators say he then allegedly admitted to the killings, saying, “I did it!”

Troopers spoke with a friend of the teen who claimed to have gotten a Snapchat message from him that read, “I killed my parents.” Judah Courtney then followed that up with a Snapchat video after getting out of the shower that claimed he had found his parents dead. The video showed the bodies lying on the floor.

The teen admitted to the killings during an interview at state police barracks, saying he intended to kill his victims, WJAC reported. He also described the weapons at the scene, which included a serrated knife, paring knife, and butcher knife, per investigators.

According to investigators, the family moved to Pennsylvania from Texas about two years ago, WJAC reported. Neighbors described Olivia Courtney as “very nice,” saying that when they first moved the family were very social. Over time, however, the family became more withdrawn.

Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees confirmed the next of kin for the teen is a paternal grandfather who still lives in Texas. But it’s still unclear what led his family to make such a far move.

“That’s something that we’re obviously interested in understanding. What brought them to Carrolltown? Texas is not right next door, so that’s again something that we’re trying to figure out,” Cambria County DA Greg Neugebauer said during a press conference, WJAC reported.

Judah Courtney is being tried as an adult, WPXI reported. He is facing charges that include two counts of criminal homicide, four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of possessing instruments of crime, and one count of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

The bodies of both women are being autopsied. The teen has a preliminary hearing set for October 16.
