Football Player’s Baby Goes Viral After Spitting Up During Dad’s Big NFL Draft Moment

If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that babies are unpredictable. They often find themselves in unintentionally hilarious moments. But they are so cute, we don’t usually mind if they steal the spotlight for a minute. College football player Kelvin Banks Jr., is learning to share the spotlight with his infant after a fame-making moment during the 2025 NFL Draft.

It appears that his little one couldn’t handle all of the excitement. After being jostled around a little too much in all the excitement, the baby spit up. And it was all caught on camera. Naturally, people on social media are having a field day.

Everyone got caught up in the moment.

Banks Jr., who currently plays for the Texas Longhorns was the No. 9 pick during the draft, Sports Illustrated reported. He got emotional on camera as he was picked by the New Orleans Saints. Sporting a Saints cap, Banks was surrounded by his family during the understandably emotional moment.

Banks Jr.’s partner Demetria and their young son Khalil were sitting right next to him. Video shared by the SEC Network shows Demetria holding the baby while also expressing her excitement for her partner. In all the excitement, the little one gets jostled around, maybe a little too much.

Some people had jokes about Banks Jr.’s new team.

While the SEC footage cuts off, people watching the draft live caught little Khalil spitting up. Perhaps he was just a little too excited about his dad getting drafted?

People on social media didn’t waste any time pointing out the baby’s lack of etiquette.

Sports reporter Troy Machir quickly tweeted a clip of the moment, writing “We just had a baby throw up during the NFL Draft.” Someone replied “I’d throw up too if someone I knew got drafted by New Orleans.”

Another X user wrote “Kelvin Banks the 3rd thinks the #saints isn’t a good fit.”

Sometimes, spit happens.

The couple announced Demetria’s pregnancy in November, which means the baby is only a few months old. As many people pointed out, between his age and the fact that his mom jostled him around a bunch, spit up was bound to happen.

“I felt so sorry for that baby getting shaken every time she clapped. No wonder the poor thing threw up!” one person tweeted.

“Tell me you have a newborn when everyone is making a big deal about this but you’re just like 🤷🏼‍♀️ because it’s your norm multiple times a day,” someone else posted.
