Police in Plant City, Florida, are investigating a possible quadruple homicide. Because the investigation is still in the early stages, there are certain details police are not yet providing. Currently, we do not know much about the victims. Two children were shot and killed, as well as their mother. Another child managed to avoid physical injury. Additionally, a second shooting location was discovered, and the children’s grandma, who was their mom’s mother, was also killed. A motive for the killings hasn’t been revealed, and police haven’t named anyone, including a possible suspect, but they are asking the public for help.
This is what is known so far.
Officers from the Plant City Police Department were called about a disturbance at a home on West Tever Street on May 3, 2026, WWSB reported.
When police arrived, they found the bodies of a 4-month-old child and a 4-year-old child with gunshot wounds. According to Fox 13, they were declared dead at the scene.
Their 28-year-old mom was found at the home also gunshot wounds, but she was alive. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died. A third child was found at the scene who had no injuries.
As they investigated that shooting, police were led to a second location on North Burton Street. There, they found the 55-year-old mother of the 28-year-old mother, per Fox 1. She had been fatally shot.
Multiple neighbors are speaking out about what they saw.
Ashley and John Czarniak live on North Burton Street near one of the homes. They spoke with Fox 13 about some disturbing behavior happening in the house days before the apparent quadruple homicide.
“They had some type of disagreement on Friday to where the police were called by the wife. Then in that time, her mother came,” John Czarniak said.
What they saw next was even more disturbing. “The night before everything happened, we noticed him putting on a bulletproof vest and then loading a large duffel bag into the trunk of his car,” he added.
Jody Kott told WFLA that she didn’t know the family, but she woke up after hearing two gunshots around 7 a.m.
“My neighbor informed me that what he had found was a lady and her children had been shot right here in the driveway next door,” she said.
“I absolutely pray for them. God needs to be with them. From what I saw, they will need every prayer they can get,” Kott told Fox 13.
Police are looking to the public for help investigating the quadruple homicide.
According to Fox 13, police said some of the people were walking between the North Burton and West Tever Street locations in the early morning.
Plant City police officers are asking residents and business owners to check home camera and video surveillance footage taken between 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. on May 3. They’re specifically looking for footage from North Burton Street, West Tever Street, and the surrounding area, especially of a woman walking with three children in that time period.
