An Ohio man is facing charges after he allegedly filmed a teenage boy in a bathroom on a cruise ship that had departed from Florida. Kevin Six is accused of knowingly placing his phone in the bathroom before the boy went in to take a shower, police say. His plan was thwarted, however, when the boy noticed the phone was in the bathroom before he began undressing. He was easily able to gain access into Six’s phone and find the evidence he needed. Six was separated from the boy while they remained on the ship.
Police have not shared the relationship between Six and the boy, their destination, or any other details about the illicit incident. The man is currently being considered a digital voyeur.
They were allegedly sharing a room.
The 41-year-old, who lives in Akron, was taken into police custody on April 3, 2026, in Port Everglades, Florida, WPLG reported.
Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Six and the 15-year-old victim were sharing a room on the cruise. The teen reportedly found “his friend’s phone in a concealed area.” The victim told police that on March 31, he told Six that he was about to take a shower.
When the teen asked if Six needed to use the bathroom first, he said “yes” and went into the bathroom. The teen went into the bathroom to shower and noticed Six’s backpack. According to the arrest form, the teen could see Six’s phone “sticking out of his backpack in the direction of the shower,” per WPLG.
The teen potentially saved himself.
According to deputies, when the teen took the phone out of Six’s bag to watch the video, it showed the man setting up the phone in the direction of the shower. It was clear his intention was to record the boy as he undressed and showered.
The teen recorded the video on his own phone and told his grandmother what was going on, per the news outlet. She suggested they alert cruise security.
Both the victim and Six were placed in isolation until the ship docked in Port Everglades, authorities said. They did not give any details about what ship they were on.
According to the arrest report obtained by WPLG, Six refused to talk to investigators once the ship returned. He was arrested on a charge of video voyeurism on a child less than 16 years old. Six was granted a $50,000 bond.

Six’s mug shot and arresting information was shared by the Facebook page Broward County Mugshots, and the comments were exactly what you’d suspect for his type of charge.

“I knew his charges before I even read them 🤦🏻♀️🤢🤮,” someone else commented.
“Pervert I know he did it at least six other times,” another person chimed in.
“I knew it something indecent with someone under age,” one commenter wrote. “They can’t get anyone of age to submit to there crap.”
One commenter suggested authorities “send him straight to the Everglades for the gators.”
But perhaps the most shocking comment was from someone who knew Six who wrote, “he was my 8th grade history teacher at Lehman Middle School in Canton Ohio.”
