Husband Who Claimed He Found Wife Dead in Their Hot Tub Finally Admits He’s Guilty of Drowning Her

A woman in England is finally at peace after her husband was found guilty of her murder. Andrew Georgiou and his wife had spent an evening out together. When she got into their hot tub that night, she probably had no idea that she was never getting out alive. A motive for the killing has not been shared by authorities, but there was a reason the man savagely killed his wife that night. His murdering her in cold blood would have been horrible enough, but then he lied to authorities about what happened to protect himself. He is awaiting sentencing, but hopefully he spends a long time in jail.

Georgiou pleaded guilty to one count of murder on December 9, 2025, finally admitting to killing his wife, BirminghamLive reported.

In the early hours of November 2, 2024, 44-year-old Andrew Georgiou and his wife, 42-year-old Carol Georgiou, arrived home after an evening out. Carol Georgiou decided to get into the hot tub the couple had in their backyard.

He followed her into the hot tub and proceeded to hold her under the water until she drowned, Bucks Free Press reported. About 40 minutes later, he called emergency personnel, telling them he found his wife unresponsive in their hot tub.

“This is a tragic case and my thoughts and the thoughts of Thames Valley Police remain with Carol Georgiou’s loved ones at this difficult time,” Thames Valley Police Detective Inspector Michael Roddy said.

Shortly after her death, Carol’s family released a statement obtained by the BBC. She was remembered as a woman who “cherished her role as a mother to her sons and brought joy and laughter wherever she went.”

“Her passing has left a deep void in our family, and we are struggling to imagine life without her,” the family shared. “We will always treasure her warm smile, loving embraces and witty sense of humor.”

Andrew Georgiou will be sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on March 9, 2026.
