They say a picture says a thousand words. Sometimes, instead of a picture, it’s a facial expression. Mina Kimes, a NFL reporter for ESPN found that out after going viral for making the most real cringe face ever. And the best part is, her reaction was completely natural.
Kimes was on-air when the discussion turned to San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York getting busted by police for hiring a sex worker. York, who is a very rich man, seemed to be offering the sex worker a small amount of money. It’s unknown which part of the story Himes was reacting to, but her reaction understandably went viral.

In the clip, which was shared on X, Mina Kimes is in a split screen while appearing on NFL Live. As the show’s panelists discussed York’s situation, she was no longer visible. Panelist Adam Schefter cited a court document saying that York arranged for sex in an Ohio trailer park, and paid $140, not knowing it was a police officer he was talking to.
At that moment, there was a cut back to the split screen, catching Kimes as she winced in embarrassment. To be fair to her, the other panelists had the same visceral reaction. But she didn’t know she was on camera, and as soon as she realized, she quickly tried to fix her face.
Kimes reposted the clip on her own X account, explaining “Didn’t know I was on camera for that $140 reveal.
