California Mom of 3 Allegedly Run Off the Road & Killed by Jealous Husband Who Accused Her of Affair

The family of a California mom of three is mourning her death, allegedly at the hands of her husband. The husband, 31-year-old Albert Perez, believed that his wife, 25-year-old Asia Guercy, was engaging in an affair, and confronted her about it. Guercy was in the car with 31-year-old Charles Dark, but no one can confirm their relationship or if he was her affair partner. Perez reportedly ran his wife off the road with his car.

Family claims that Guercy, who was “devoted” to her children, was in the process of leaving Perez. She had previously filed a restraining order against him, and accused him of abuse.

Guercy and Dark died in San Bernardino on January 26, multiple outlets reported. San Bernardino police were called to a car crash site shortly after midnight, KTLA reported. Upon arrival, they discovered the car crashed into a flood channel. Guercy and Dark were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, they identified the suspect as Guercy’s husband. Guercy and Perez had been together for 11 years and had three children together.

Investigators believe that earlier in the day Perez had confronted Guercy about allegedly having an affair. Dark was also present at the time, but investigators have yet to confirm if Guercy and Dark were romantically involved.

Guercy and Dark drove away after the confrontation, but Perez reportedly followed them. Allegedly, he rear-ended their car. This caused them to crash through a chain link fence before ending up in the flood-control channel.

Detectives have determined that the crash was homicide, and arrested Perez for the murders. KTLA reported that the cause of death for both is blunt force trauma to the head.

To cope with the loss, Guercy’s sister, Maliya Guercy, started a GoFundMe. “Asia was a beautiful soul with a deep faith in God and regularly attended church,” the woman wrote. “She leaves behind three young children who now face a future without their loving mother.”

Maliya Guercy spoke with the Los Angeles Times about her sister’s death. During their conversation, she said her sister was in the process of leaving Perez. She claimed that the mom of three had faced verbal and physical abuse at the hands of her husband during their marriage.

According to court records reported by multiple outlets, Asia Guercy filed a restraining order against Perez in 2021. It was thrown out by a judge.

“Her absence is a tremendous loss for our family and everyone who knew her,” Maliya Guercy said. “Despite her challenges, she always shone brightly.”

On January 28, Perez pleaded not guilty. People reported Perez’s next court date is in March.
