A Texas mother and her young son are lucky to be alive after getting caught in the crossfire of a shootout. The unnamed mom was with her 6-year-old son in Pasadena, Texas, on September 25, when the shooting occurred. It was a terrifying ordeal, but thankfully she and her son were not hurt.
The mom told ABC 13 that she and her little boy were trying to get a pizza when they heard the shots ring out. Multiple bullets hit her car, but none touched them. Now, police are searching for the shooters.

The little boy was in the back seat.
The mom told ABC 13 she didn’t want the station to identify her because the shooters were still at large. She and her son were driving on Red Bluff Road near Preston Avenue around 6 p.m., when the shootout began. The little boy was in the back seat and his mother did her best to shield him.
“I put my arm on top of him to make sure he stayed down, and that’s when those shots were fired at the car,” the woman said. “Just innocent people out doing their normal day routine, and this happens.”
Multiple bullets hit the car.
The mother and son had nothing to do with the shooting, but their car was seriously damaged. There were at least five bullet holes in the back windshield.
“It’s scary to think I almost lost my son [Wednesday],” she admitted. “I heard gunshots, and I looked, and I saw a gunman hanging outside of the car with a big black gun.”
A nearby business caught the shooting on its surveillance cameras.
The video reportedly shows two cars matching the description of those involved in the shooting. Footage shows a person coming out of the window of a red car and another tan sedan. It is unclear who the suspects are or what caused the altercation. Anyone with information should call the Pasadena Police Department.

The mother feels lucky to be alive.
She told ABC 13 that she didn’t know what she would have done if anything had happened to her son. “I can’t imagine if I would have lost my son that day over those reckless people. I don’t know. I just want them caught,” she said. “God saved us for sure.”
ABC 13 shared the video on YouTube. The comments section had mixed reactions.
One person wrote, “Prayers for mom and her son.”
Another condemned the country’s gun laws, writing, “There’s your 2nd amendment America.”
