Three young children are in serious condition after their mother, Aurionah-Rakii-Karie Parker-White, allegedly stabbed them. The young mother allegedly slashed and stabbed the children before realizing what she had done. She then tried to get help, and thankfully someone stepped in. When questioned, she admitted that she was struggling with the demands of motherhood. She was feeling overwhelmed, which made her snap and try to hurt her kids. Now, she’s facing charges.
The 23-year-old mom reportedly attacked her three children – a 1-year-old girl, 3-year-old boy, and 5-year-old boy – by cutting their wrists on May 28, 2025, according to police. The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. It is unknown what she used to cut them.
Devaughen Stringfellow, a tow truck driver who was in the area, saw the mom running out of her apartment alongside her daughter, who wore only a bloody diaper. “She kept screaming like: ‘I need help! Help me! My baby! I called the police! They didn’t come!’” he said, according to CBS News. “So, at first, I wasn’t going to put them in my truck with the blood – but I threw them all in the truck.”
Stringfellow drove Parker-White and her children to St. Bernard Hospital. The children were later transferred to the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital. They were listed in serious condition.

According to prosecutors, the 5-year-old boy told hospital staff his mom “was going to make them go to heaven,” NBC Chicago reported. In video footage, the woman admitted that she stabbed her children. She also said that she knew what she did was wrong. Prosecutors said she shared that she’s caring for her children by herself, and she wanted to kill them and herself.
As they drove to the hospital, Stringfellow saw the boy putting his arm around his mother to console her. “Mama, don’t cry, it’s gonna be all right,” he said, per the Chicago Sun-Times.
“This is what’s messing me up because I can’t get this out my head,” the man said. “I don’t know man, it’s just crazy.”
Aurionah-Rakii-Karie Parker-White was charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated battery to a child, per NBC Chicago. She was being held in Cook County Jail.
