A mom and her four young children have died after a car crash in Georgia. Reagan Dougan was driving with her children when they got into the collision. Apparently, the family was traveling to meet her husband, who is still alive. Now, he’s mourning his family.
Since the crash, Dougan has been praised as a loving mother. Now, those who knew her are coming together as a community to mourn the loss of her and her children. Police are investigating what caused the collision.
The crash occurred on the morning of Sunday, April 6, 2025, the Associated Press reported. Two vehicles collided on I-95 going southbound in McIntosh County, Georgia. Dougan, 27, was the driver of one vehicle, which caught fire after the collision. Her four children, ages 9, 4, 2, and 3 months were also in the car, Georgia State Trooper Christopher Ashdown told the news service.
Dougan had rented an SUV to make the trip from Raleigh, North Carolina, to Florida to meet her husband. The passenger of the other vehicle had to be taken to the hospital.
Now, the people who knew Reagan Dougan are remembering her. The family had recently moved to a cul-de-sac in Raleigh. Though they hadn’t lived there long, neighbors remember them fondly.
“We always waved at each other, she always had a smile on her face. The kids were always happy,” neighbor Jason Flores told WRAL.
Friend of the family Christopher Butler-Jones, who goes by “Jonesy,” spoke about them with WTVD. “I’m still in shock,” he said. Her husband “lost his entire family. It’s just heart-wrenching.”
“That was one of her dreams, is to always have an amazing family and be a mother,” he said. “She was very dedicated. Her kids were everything to her.” Jonesy remembers his friend as a “very loving, and kind person.”
“If you’re upset, you can call her and she’s going to make you happy,” he said. “She’s going to show you the brighter side of it.”
