A teacher in Florida has been arrested after details came out about his alleged abuse of a young female student. Daniel Le Lievre, who taught middle school, reportedly set his sights on his 13-year-old student, taking extreme measures to have access to her. Le Lievre began dating the girl’s mother and stayed in a relationship for several months. During that time, he apparently escalated his inappropriate relationship with the girl, including setting up multiple lines of secret communication. His alleged abuse didn’t just take place at the school; it also happened at his home. His alleged transgressions came to light, which led him to lose his job. And now, he’s likely going to prison.
He is facing consequences in the case.
The 41-year-old teacher was taken into police custody at his home in Oviedo on March 30, 2026, online records viewed by People stated. In court records obtained by the magazine, police alleged Le Lievre began dating the girl’s mother in October 2023. They dated until January 2024.
While they dated, the mother and her children spent a considerable amount of time at his home, including overnight sleepovers. He then went on to groom the girl and sexually assaulted her at least once at his home in the middle of the night, authorities allege.
Le Lievre was charged with two counts of sexual assault by a custodian of a victim over the age of 12 and under the age of 18, online court records show, per People.
He wormed his way into the girl’s school and personal life.
The teacher used his position to make changes to the girl’s schedule without her mother’s consent, News 6 Orlando reported, citing the arrest affidavit. He also spent time alone with her in his classroom before, during, and after school. Le Lievre reportedly went so far as to set up a designated drawer for her in his desk where he kept items including a blanket and perfume.
He also allegedly taught the girl Morse code to be able to communicate without being detected. Beyond that, he created secret websites and disposable email addresses. Le Lievre also reportedly told the girl to delete their conversations and instructed her to clear her browser history on multiple occasions, per News 6 Orlando.
Daniel Le Lievre even set up a secret bank account in the girl’s name without her mother knowing where he would make monetary deposits.
He allegedly told her mom he only dated her to get closer to her daughter.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the girl and her mother spoke with police about what happened in February 2026. The girl’s mother told police she caught Le Lievre talking on the phone with her daughter in the middle of the night more than once and saw them holding hands during a trip to Disney Springs. While at the school, he and the girl would hold hands and hug, and sometimes he would touch her thighs.
During the winter 2023-2024 holiday break, the mother and her children spent the night at Le Lievre’s home. In the middle of the night, the girl got up to go to the bathroom. She told police he followed her there, told her to take her clothes off, and proceeded to have sex with her. He then told her not to tell anyone. She was 13 at the time.
According to multiple reports, the former teacher taught at Tuskawilla Middle School from August 4, 2022, through May 3, 2024. Seminole County Public Schools placed him on leave in 2024 after allegations of inappropriate relationships with students came up. He is not eligible for rehire, WESH reported.
He appeared in court briefly on March 31, where a judge ordered him held without bond, per WESH.
