An Ohio mom is facing multiple charges after allegedly torturing her young son. According to police, Tiarika Baymon recorded herself physically abusing her son before sharing it on social media. Around the same time, her son was reported missing and in danger. An Amber Alert was issued for the boy, but police were able to find the youth before things got worse. The mom was quickly taken into police custody, and the investigation continues.
Pennsylvania police arrested 32-year-old Baymon on September 14, 2025, after an Amber Alert was issued in Brunswick, Ohio, WTAE reported.
“There was a 7-year-old male who had been taken by his mother and they felt was in life-threatening danger,” Ross Township Deputy Chief Brian Kohlhepp told the outlet.
Brunswick Police Department Lt. Chris Spencer told WKYC that an FBI office in North Carolina alerted them about disturbing videos Baymon posted online of her son. In the videos, the mom reportedly could be seen abusing her 7-year-old son.
“They had evidence to include an Instagram video that she had bound him and had tortured him,” Kohlhepp said.
Investigators began tracking the mom’s cellphone, following her from Ohio to Pennsylvania. Around this time, the alert was issued. About a half hour after they began, she was found in the woods of Ross Township. The Amber Alert was cancelled.
In the wooded area, police found the woman sleeping in the front seat of her car, WTAE reported, and she had a handgun in her lap. Her son was sleeping in the back seat. “They had to reach in and unfortunately remove her from the car. She didn’t suffer any injuries as a part of that. And the gun actually fell out onto the ground during that exchange,” Kohlhepp said.
Police took Baymon into custody, and the boy was taken to a children’s hospital. Both outlets reported that the boy may have had broken bones. He also had swelling and marks on his wrist. Kohlhepp said the boy was suffering from “some significant distress.”
According to the criminal complaint, the boy told police his mom hit him in the face with a glass bottle.
The Brunswick Police Department’s Amber Alert described Baymon’s mental state as “paranoid, speaks of demons.” She appeared in an Allegheny County court on September 15, where she was denied bond, WKYC reported. In Pennsylvania, she faces several charges, including recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of children.
Tiarika Baymon also faces charges in Ohio. “We charged her currently with a felony level child endangering,” Spencer told WKYC. “But as the investigation progresses, there will certainly be more charges levied against her.”
Spencer said the mom will face charges in Pennsylvania before being extradited back to Ohio, per WKYC. She is due back in court in October.
