3-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized After Being Attacked by 5 Dogs That Are Now in Quarantine

Details are still emerging about a toddler attacked by dogs in North Texas. Not much is known currently about the attack — why it happened or what kind of dogs were involved. Dog attacks can be incredibly dangerous, especially when the victim is a toddler. They are not totally uncommon; a child was injured in a dog attack at a birthday party in England in April 2025. And in 2024, multiple children died after being mauled by dogs.

Recently, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in Texas received a 911 call from a mom about an incident involving her child and several dogs, WFAA reported. She said that her 3-year-old son had been attacked by multiple dogs and was bleeding. The boy was flown to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on Monday, May 12, 2025. Due to his age, no details about the little boy have been released.

One of the deputies was able to identify the owner of the five dogs that attacked. All of the animals were taken into quarantine and will be evaluated, deputies said. There are no details about why the toddler was attacked by the dogs. It is also unknown how they were able to get to him.

“Our detectives have the case and are deciding if charges will be filed or not,” Chief Deputy James Saulter of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement shared by CBS News.

The outlet also reported that the boy was in stable condition as of Tuesday, May 13. The case is still ongoing.
