A man who thought his coffee had a strange taste alleges his wife tried to poison him with bleach over several months. The unnamed husband reportedly noticed that the coffee didn't taste right in March, when he and his wife, Melody Feliciano Johnson, were stationed overseas in Germany while he served in the US Air Force.
The pair were reportedly going through a divorce but lived together with their child. Today reported that although something seemed off with the coffee, he continued to drink it for several weeks. He was shocked when he found out what was apparently happening.

The husband started to do some investigating in their home.
In court documents obtained by Today, the husband said he decided to test the drinking water in the family's home to see where the strange taste was coming from. When those numbers came back normal, he reportedly went straight for the coffee pot. The water in the coffee pot had "high levels of chlorine." That is when the husband began to put it all together.
He reportedly caught his wife in the act.
He continued to pretend to drink the coffee for several weeks. In May, the shrewd husband set up a camera in the family's home, hoping to catch Johnson in the act, court documents state. He claims Johnson was pouring something into the pot, which he believed was bleach, and intentionally making him sick.
He continued with his covert coffee drinking until the family returned to the US in June. Court documents noted he didn't want to file a complaint in Germany.
While the family was temporarily living in a hotel in Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, he set up a camera again to see if Johnson was adding anything to the coffee pot. He believed he had enough evidence to go to the police, but he couldn't prove the substance was bleach at that time.
When he finally caught her allegedly pouring bleach into the coffee pot, he went back to the police.
This time, he had enough evidence for his wife's arrest, thanks to the placement of cameras he installed. The husband believed Johnson was trying to kill him to collect insurance benefits, according to court documents, per Today.
A search warrant found interesting evidence.
Police executed a search warrant of Johnson and her husband's home and found a container in the woman's bedroom under the sink that smelled strongly of chlorine. Court documents also stated there was liquid in the coffee maker that smelled like bleach.
