Woman Gets Voted Off Frontier Flight by Passengers After ‘Antagonizing’ Couple With Baby

When you get on an airplane, you want to get from point A to point B as smoothly as possible. But of course, some people just can’t seem to play nice when they're on a flight, in a car, or in a line at Starbucks. You get the point. And when others misbehave, it often ends up causing trouble for every other traveler. Things got really heated on a recent Frontier Airlines flight, and lucky for us, there’s video.

It’s 2023, people. If you think you can act like a clown and no one is going to start recording, you’re as dumb as the way you're acting. TikToker Lanais Li, was on a flight from Trenton, New Jersey, to Atlanta, Georgia, when a fight broke out among passengers. There was screaming, yelling, and even some cash thrown. Now, one of the people behaving badly wants to sue Lanais for defamation because she put the video up on TikTok. It just keeps getting juicier and juicier.

Apparently, there was a disagreement over seating.

In a series of TikTok videos, we see Mani Slays yelling at several people on a flight. She allegedly got upset because of seating arrangements on the plane, which led to a blowout between Mani, a man who appears to be her husband, and a flight attendant.

Lanais started recording while Mani, who at various points can be seen holding a baby, was yelling at another woman on the plane, and it got ugly. There were lots of words we can’t even type, and people making faces that are a mix of shocked, terrified, and amused. Out of nowhere, during the argument, Mani’s man comes up the aisle and throws a wad of dollar bills at the other woman, who has her hair in a bun.

Lanais commented on the first video, “the ‘money’ man was arguing with a flight attendant, the pilot made a complete u-turn to get him off everybody mad. We was delayed 1 hour+.”

Everybody shut up.

At this point, we can see the couple and their baby being taken off the airplane.

Now, another guy gets into the middle of things during the second video. A man we’ll call “Red Jacket Guy” gets himself all worked up and starts pontificating about this situation being a snapshot of "American culture."

“If everybody really was about everybody as a collective whole, everybody would work together. But everybody’s against everybody. It’s American culture that’s the problem,” he says loudly.

Red Jacket Guy said he wants us all to be nice to one another and be quiet. Well, he’s not wrong. Next, we see a flight attendant come along to temper the situation, and everything seems fine.

Those in favor, raise your hands.

Red Jacket Guy wasn’t done. Nope. He had enough of the woman with the bun and decided he wanted her thrown off the plane, too. But in the interest of democracy, he asked anyone who wanted her to go to raise their hand in a vote. And it worked!

The next thing we know, a security officer removed the woman from the plane. She says something unkind to Red Jacket Guy, and away she goes.

“I’m cryinggggg she got voted off the plane," someone commented. "He preached & had a vision and made it happen. They all 'worked together' like he wanted.”

“No clue what’s going on, but I just raised my hand from my couch," someone else wrote.

Mani wants to sue for defamation.

When you go viral because you are screaming on an airplane, it’s probably embarrassing. That seems to be the case for Mani, who reportedly slid into Lanai’s DMs and told her she plans to sue her for defamation.

Mani wrote: “Take this down. At this point u got your little clout off everything. I did not give u sonsent to poit me. You posted this on every single social media platform. If u continue to have my face plastered from YOUR page I will be taking legal action.”

And Lanais clapped back, “I actually own the video, I don’t need permission to record in a public space, which an airplane is. I will not take it down. I’m not the one doing anything illegal, y’all actually were.”

Did Lanais do anything wrong?

Mani clearly doesn’t love how this is playing out, but did Lanais unlawfully record her? Sparks Law says, no.

“When you are in a public setting such as a concert, grocery store, a park, and many others, recordings are permitted. The primary motivator for recording in these types of atmospheres is to ensure safety and enhanced security. Once you leave your private property, you should not be expecting full privacy. Thus, recording in appropriate settings when in public is permitted. However, even in public, there are certain places with expected levels of privacy where recording is not allowed, such as bathrooms and dressing rooms,” a post on the legal group's website reads.

On TikTok alone, Lanais' videos have amassed nearly 12 million views. That’s a lot of people and opinions. Most agree that Lanais did nothing wrong.

“People throw the word defamation around for anything like bffr,” a comment reads.

“Now I don’t know much about the law but I did learn defamation and libel in my BULE class and this ain’t either,” someone else wrote.

Despite the threats, Lanais has no plans to take the videos down and promises to share updates. Girl, we already clicked follow.
