6-Year-Old Girl Has Epic Clapback for Classmate Who Fat-Shamed Her

Kids really do say the darndest things. But sometimes, they’re absolutely right in their assessment of a situation. A 6-year-old girl on Instagram, had a strong message for a classmate who tried to make her feel bad about her body: She wasn’t going to take it!

It’s refreshing to see a young girl stand up for herself against those who tried to fat-shame her. So often, young women are made to feel bad about their weight, but this little one is showing that she will stand up to the haters. She’s a little icon!

The girl didn't mince words.

Miya Hayes, a 6-year-old from Tennessee, had a few words for Jessica, a classmate who had opinions to share.

“Let me all tell ya’ll something — don’t talk about people,” Hayes said in an Instagram video. “People is perfect the way they are.” That’s when she called her shamer out by name. “And I’m talking about you, Jessica!” she exclaimed, waving her finger into the camera.

Miya has some big feelings about Jessica.

“Jessica is mean,” the little girl told Today.com in a phone interview. Her mom, Chrisshay Clack, told the outlet that her daughter was “born confident.”

“Miya speaks her mind. She knows who she is and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks about her,” Clack said.

“Really? But remember, we don’t care about what other people say, OK?” Clack reminds her daughter. But the Miya doesn’t want to hear it.

“And I said, ‘Yo mama!’” she proudly shares. That’s when Clack started laughing. “No! You don’t talk about nobody’s mama,” she admonished. But she knows that she did what she had to.

“Then her mama came and picked her up and her mama really was fat!” she said with a flourish before whispering under her breath, “At least I didn’t lie though.”
