Mom Called ‘Messed Up’ for Leaving 2-Year-Old at Home To Go on Vacation With Husband & Newborn

For parents of more than one kid, making sure you’re spending time with each of them can be a challenge. You have to do what feels fair and works for everyone. But when you have younger kids who don’t fully understand, it may make things complicated. Mom Georgia Brown is coming under fire after revealing that she left her toddler home on a recent family vacation.

She explained that she did it to have more one-on-one time with her newborn, but people pointed out that only one of her kids actually knows what’s going on.

The parents wanted special time with their infant.

Georgia Brown was surprised when her husband Chris told her he was taking her on a trip to Morocco and only their infant Harry was tagging along. That “It was a surprise that [older son] George wasn’t coming,” she told What’s the Jam via the New York Post. “When he gave me the ticket and I saw one child, I thought ‘Where’s the other one?’ But when he explained, I thought it was quite sweet.”

According to the London-based mom, the parents wanted “one-on-one time” with their baby. “George’s first holiday was all about him, and we wanted that same experience with Harry.” She explained that her husband primarily spends time with their older son, and because of his work schedule, doesn’t get much time with the baby.

She shared the trip on TikTok, and people were not having it.

Brown shared a brief clip of the trip on her TikTok. “POV: you leave your first baby home to take your second baby on their first holiday where it can be all about them and not their sibling,” she wrote.

@gettingreadywithteddy Would you leave your child at home to take another one away? I wasn’t sure on the idea of it at first but im so glad we did it, it was so amazing to make those 1-on-1 memories with our second 🫶🏼 #secondtimemom ♬ Iris – Jada Facer

An overwhelming majority of the comments are people — mostly moms — expressing their shock at her choice.

“One thing I like about me is I’m nothing like you and I never will be 🥰 what a rubbish thing to do,” one mom wrote.

“The baby won’t even remember it but ur oldest might I don’t get the logic,” someone else wrote.

“I fear you did it the wrong way round lol,” one comment reads.

Another person commented: “This is rotten. You got it wrong mamma. Your poor first baby.”

“But the new baby isn’t the one that feels left out 😅 you just dumped your first kid for the new one and he’ll be very aware,” someone else pointed out.

She was shocked by people’s responses.

“I didn’t expect it to get the reaction it did. People were saying ‘that poor boy’ and that he’ll grow up and never speak to me again,” Brown said. “People are saying it’ll really impact him and he’ll remember. The boy can’t remember what he had for dinner.”

Still, the mom doubled down on her decision. “I’m absolutely not a bad parent,” she asserted. “People don’t know me and are just online bullies.”

Despite the feelings of others, Brown knows she did the right thing. “The baby may not remember, but Chris and I will,” she said.
