‘Glass Half Full News,’ Hosted By Kids, Is The Positive Show We All Need This Year

If we’re being honest, 2020 wasn’t the easiest (to put it delicately). But despite all the challenges people have faced this past year, there have still been some incredible positives. We know it can be hard to see the bright side of things sometimes, especially when people are struggling, but there is one source of positivity we can always rely on: kids. Children are a shining light and a beacon of hope for people everywhere, and they have a knack for making people smile. Now, they’re taking their positivity to the screen, with got milk?

Over the past few months, five kids — Amanda, Jenny, Logan, Ella, Polly, and Diana — have contributed to Glass Half Full News, a news show with a freshly positive perspective from kids.

16-year-old Black-ish star and executive producer Marsai Martin served as creative director on Glass Half Full News, explains that the show “[dishes] up the brighter side of news with the help of some pretty cool kids.”

So far, there are six incredible episodes of Glass Half Full News, each one more positive than the next. In the first episode, the team talks about surviving in the wild (backyard) and reports on what kids have been learning at home. In the second episode, the kids explore the world of gaming and look into what people did for fun before video games and modern technology were parts of our daily lives. The third episode focuses on the trend of unboxing and the team catches up with a correspondent in outer space! In episode four, the newscasters talk to kid influencers about dancing, fashion, and snack competitions. The fifth episode focuses on health and beauty tips, encouraging kids to take care of themselves at home. Finally, the sixth episode is all about family, specifically connecting with grandparents (and pampering grandmothers).
