Influencer Sparks Backlash Over ‘Insane’ Baby Names She Gave Her 2 Kids

If you have ever named a child, you know it is a big responsibility. We can remember way back when and getting a Cabbage Patch Kid and looking at her birth certificate and thinking, “She doesn’t really look like a Sherry Amelda,” but someone thought it was a good idea. Sherry was a doll, and we loved her just the same, but when it came to naming our own real-life babies, we put in hours of thoughtful consideration.

There are a lot of parents who will put together a list of names and wait until they see their baby to officially name the little one. It’s not a bad call because you certainly want the name to fit the beautiful little baby in your arms.

People also love to have unique names, but some of them have gotten a bit out there. For instance, Nara Smith, a model and influencer who is expecting her third baby, shared some potential baby names for her newest addition on TikTok, where she’s known as @naraazizasmith, and people were less than impressed.

Smith’s two children have very unusual names.

She began her TikTok with a disclaimer that the names on her list are beloved to her but she won’t be using them. She added that her daughter’s name is Rumble Honey Smith and her little boy is named Slim Easy Smith, calling them “unique.”

Yes, that they are. We don’t think we’ve ever met a kid named Slim, but it is totally giving Marshall Mathers vibes. Smith then began to rattle of a list of pretty strange names.

She gives both first and middle name options.

Smith begins with a few of her feminine choices.

“For a girl’s name, I really loved the name Odie, Pepper, Don. They’re all really cute to me,” she says.

She adds, “I really liked Cherry as a middle name. My husband doesn’t really like that name. I also like Bubble as a second name – that might be controversial – and I love the name Pear as a first name.”

And then she gives us boys. “I love the name Frosty still, if you guys remember,” adding, “What else was there? Sunny, Silver, Zen – those are a few but we won’t be using them for this baby.”

To no one’s surprise, this video blew up.

Smith’s video has been viewed 9.6 million times, and the comments section didn’t disappoint when it came to reactions.

Someone asked, “he didnt like cherry for a middle name but was cool w slim easy???”

“I think people forget that [their] children will be adults. Imagine telling someone ur name is slim easy at a job interview omds,” a comment reads.

Some commenters were shocked this was real.

“the way I always thought they were codenames cos you didn’t want to say their real names on camera,” one comment reads.

Then TikTokers had some suggestions.

Plenty of people wanted to take a stab at naming Smith’s baby.

“Emery Board, Mint Paprika, Quarry Rock, Rye Loaf, Breezy Day, Linen Tablecloth, Early Late idk just a few suggestions,” one person commented.

Someone added, “i LOVE chilean sea bass for a girl ”

This person gave a whole list: “Febreeze Fresh, Tupper Ware, Stair Well, Bam Boo, Faucet Warm, Ozem Peek.”

Then there was this multiples suggestion: “if it’s triplets just name them cheetoh, frito, and dorrito.”

Not everyone hated Smith’s list.

There were quite a few comments from people who liked her unusual choices.

“Silver smith is ,” someone wrote.

One person loved her daughter’s name, commenting, “Sorry to disagree with the comments, but I LOVE, ‘Rumble Honey.’”

“Dawn and Silver are my faves from this list,” another comment reads.

This person put together a full name suggestion, writing, “Pepper Rose Smith kinda ate though.”

We are all for a special name for a special child, but we just can’t forget that kids are really mean. Let’s do our best to choose a name that won’t end up in a bully’s mouth.
