Big families are always an interesting topic of conversation. Many people can’t fathom having more than a few kids for an assortment of reasons. But people with big families usually have their reasons. One woman in China is choosing to have a big family for a specific reason.
The mom believes that her husband’s genetics are too good to waste. So she decided she wants one child for each of the Chinese zodiac symbols. She already has nine kids, but she may not be able to complete her vision.

The couple had their first child in 2010.
Tian Dongxia, a 33-year-old woman from Zhejiang province in eastern China, met husband Zhao Wanlong in 2008. After marrying in 2010, they then had their first child, a daughter born in the Year of the Tiger, SCMP reported. The couple believes “having more children is a blessing.”
They've had eight more children since then.
In an effort not to “waste her husbandâs good genes,” the woman has given birth to eight more children, including a set of twins born during the Year of the Dragon. Their youngest son, also a Tiger, was born in 2022.
Altogether so far, they have five sons and four daughters. They are still missing the zodiac signs of the Ox, Rabbit, Snake, Horse, and Sheep.
She is unsure if she will be able to have more children.
The outlet reported on a video the woman posted of her husband joining her for her for a doctor’s appointment. She is currently pregnant with her 10th child.
“Due to my health condition, I cannot have a baby in the Year of the Dragon, so Iâm hoping for a Snake baby next year,” she explained in the video. In Chinese culture, the Snake is seen as the earthly incarnation of the Dragon.
The couple is financially comfortable.
The woman is the general manager of the power supply company her husband founded. They’ve run the company since 2009. According to the outlet, recent annual earnings are the equivalent of $55 million. Currently, they live in a villa that is 21,000-square-feet. The family employs six nannies and a nutritionist.

The woman wants to have a giant family.
Tian has expressed a desire for her nine children to each have nine children as well. To accommodate all of those children and grandchildren, the couple are apparently looking to expand their villa to hold their “future 81 grandchildren.” China has been trying to raise their birth rates, so maybe she’s on to something.
