Neighbors can be tricky. Especially for parents with small children who live next to childless people, navigating a neighborly relationship isn't always easy. Because let's face it – kids are loud and tend to act before they think, especially when they're little. And not all neighbors are understanding.
One mom from Australia recently had an unpleasant interaction with a woman who lives next door. Renee, a mother of three boys, took to TikTok to vent about the neighbor yelling at her kids for kicking a ball into her fence. Unfortunately for that mom, the vast majority of commenters sided with the neighbor.

When Renee started her video, TikTok viewers were likely on her side about a neighbor yelling at her kids.
On May 16, Renee published a video via TikTok of herself explaining the recent tiff with her neighbor. "I am shaking and fuming," she began. "My neighbor just yelled at me from across the fence."
The neighbor explained that the ball hitting the fence was scaring her animals.
Renee said she had been playing with her 5-year-old son by kicking a ball into a goal. During their playtime, the ball hit a neighbor's fence "a few times" until the neighbor spoke up.
"She yelled at my kids, saying, 'You kids stop hitting that fence.' I said, 'Excuse me, do not speak to my kids like that,'" the mom recounted. "And she goes, 'You're scaring my animals,' and I said, 'Take your animals inside. I'm playing with my 5-year-old son that is accidentally hitting your fence that is actually my fence too.'"

Renee didn't back down, telling the neighbor to 'get over it.'
That's when the neighbor reportedly suggested that she might start recording them.
"I said, 'Go ahead. Who are you going to show, the police?'" Renee explained. "'Pretty sure they have bigger fish to fry. But I will not stop playing ball with my son. And my son will not stop kicking the ball. And if it accidentally hits your fence, get over it.'"
The end of her video was the nail in the coffin for the TikToker.
"And lastly, here's one f—ing more," the mom said before purposefully kicking a final ball at the fence.
In the video's caption, Renee added, "Im SORRY. Are you actually okay? Im an animal lover dont get me wrong, but if my kid cant kick the ball outside we’ve got some issues ."

Pretty much everyone in the comments sided with the neighbor.
Thus far, the TikTok video has attracted more than 775,000 views and over 5,000 comments, and the vast majority thought Renee was in the wrong.
"Sorry I’m with the neighbour ," one person commented.
Another TikTok user wrote, "If it’s disturbing her, move the goal. We all have to compromise and co exist. It’s not worth the long term bad vibes plus it prob does upset her pets."
Someone else echoed the simple solution, writing, "Move the goals, quite easy really. or put a net up tightly before the fence."
Yet another person pointed out, "She didn't have to yell but our kids play ball and we have the same type of fence and it's actually so loud. I cannot stand the noise either."
